JACK

I've been going to Koenji High School for a couple of weeks now, and so far it's been a blast compared to my previous school in England. I've been talking with Tsuki and Danny a lot more, and for the first time in a while, it feels like I've made some decent friends. It's been practically the same in terms of lessons and schoolwork as a whole, but that's just how school-life is, really.

It's the weekend, and because spring weather is beginning to kick in, I thought I'd hang out with Danny at a nearby park, because why not? It'll be pretty cool, and I'll be able to have my first meeting with someone in Japan.

We arranged to meet up last week, and the day has finally come. I do my usual routine, and head out of the apartment for the umpteenth time. The park is only a few minutes away from Koenji High, so I'm able to spot it fairly quickly, and upon entering, I already spot Danny sitting on a bench, with a massive boombox next to him.

I do a salute to him, and slump down next to him on the bench. He pulls out a six pack of Coke and hands one to me, so I take it and crack the cap open, taking a small swig of the drink.

"I've invited my girl over to this meet up."

"You cool with that?" he says, smiling.

"Sure, it'll be cool." I reply.

He rummages through a bag of CDs before putting in Daft Punk's second album Discovery and he switches to track thirteen, happily bobbing his head along to the track while looking at numerous families playing in the sun.

"It's nice, isn't it?" he says happily, smiling as he takes another swig of his Coke.

"Yeah." I add.

He puts his hand in front of his face and he starts tapping on it. I look over to him to see that he has a holographic phone, which is implanted directly into his hand via a miniscule metallic dot. The phone has an unexpectedly high resolution for something so small, and I gape at the practically non-existent phone which is residing in his somewhat empty hand.

"How in the world did you get one of those?" I ask, my voice slightly cracking in awe.

"You have to fork out a load of money to get one, and you also have to pay for the operation that you have to undergo in order to have the phone implanted into a hand of your choice." he says proudly.

"Luckily, I already had a lot of money saved up after I got here, so I decided to spend a fraction of it on this." he adds, going on to Google.

"Here, read this."

"It's too complicated for me to actually explain, so I bring this up for anyone who wants to read."

I lean over to him, and he pulls open a tab.

"To be able to receive the Holophonia, you need to undergo a 100,000 yen transformation of the veins and nerves in the hand. They will need to be enlarged via radiotherapy, and once over, the phone's operating system, data and UI will be placed into genetic DNA strands via three needle injections, making the operating system and settings instantly accessible and memorable for the human mind."

"Sounds pretty painful, to be honest." I say, chuckling.

"They do put you under general anaesthetic, so you don't feel anything at all." he says confidently.

"And, you get free food and drink at the hospital after you've finished the operation." he says, smiling.

"Now that sounds alright..." I say, chuckling.

I notice a girl that looks very similar to Tsuki, enter the park, and she waves at Danny, runs over to him and puts him in a bear hug. She has rather short brown hair, bright green eyes and is fairly short compared to Danny, and they look very cute together. After they are done kissing and hugging, Danny introduces me to the girl, whose name is Ichigo and she seems rather sweet.

The three of us decide to have lunch together, as Ichigo ended up bringing numerous bento boxes for us to eat while we were at the park, which is definitely good (seeing as I was going to cut my time short just to go and get drinks and food anyway)

As the three of us eat lunch together, I notice that the sky keeps changing colours rapidly, and I later realize that Ichigo is on her phone doing so. She also has a Holphonia, and apparently Danny and her met in the same hospital, and within a week they were cuddling in bed. It seems a bit too quick, but I can't blame them, considering how far their relationship has been going, approximately ten months.

After we finish up, we just chill and listen to Daft Punk while we chat and joke around for a couple of hours. It goes by rather quickly, and we have a lot of fun together. By the time that we pack up, it's around five, and we see the sun begin to set.

As Ichigo and Danny place their bags on their shoulders, they both smile at me before walking off hand in hand, and I smile at the sight of the two of them happily laughing and talking. If only I could have something like that...

As I begin to make my way home, I see the sky change colours again, and I smile, hoping that it is Ichigo changing the colours again. I also notice numerous hydraulic cars, like on my first day in Japan, going at extremely high speeds.

Once I reach home, I flop onto my futon and pull out my phone. I decide to give Tsuki a call, seeing as we have only managed to briefly speak at school. I dial her number on my phone, and after only two rings, she picks up.

"Hellooo!" she exclaims happily.

"Hi." I reply, quickly putting myself under the covers of the futon.

"What you doing?" she says curiously.

"Just getting into bed to read." I say.

"Ah." she says.

"I've just been playing video games for the past couple of hours in order to pass time." she adds, before laughing to herself.

"I am a bit of a geek too, and I'm sure that's fine." she says assuringly.

"Yeah, I have to agree." I quickly say.

"Look, I don't have much time, I have to go out in a minute, so I'll chat to you more at school." she says excitedly.

"Alright then." I say back.

We both get off of the phone, and not much else happens after that. I do my usual routine, eat dinner, go to bed, spend hours on my phone and wake up the next morning and do the same thing, seeing as it is the weekend.

Right now though, life's pretty good.
