I have had many names, inspired many golfers, both on and off the course. Tales have been told, some written by others, but never one by me, and none telling my truest story. Until now.
There is no real beginning. Other than a moment when an awareness of being aware occurred. I guess the answer to the question of what came first would have to be, the thought birthed the thinker birthing the thought.
Long before gender, I was, I am. Of course, golf came much later, but once it was, I found it to be the perfect arena for focusing mind, body, and spirit in a single moment in time and space. So, I kept coming back for more.
After countless lifetimes, I suppose you would expect me to be the greatest golfer that ever was. But didn't you ever wonder why the legends of my teachings never included a single swing of mine? You see, it's one thing to understand and explain; however, to encompass all that knowledge and then to express it into motion, through a particular environment, no matter the conditions, is the ultimate challenge, even for me.
Oh sure, I could cheat and will the ball to go where I want, but then it's no longer the game I love. Besides, that's not part of the deal of being in a body. There are rules. No, I did not make them. They, in golf as in Creation, are ever evolving. This is not a static universe. Everything is always changing. I am not in charge. Nobody is. And, Everything is.
Meanwhile, being in a body is not easy, for anybody. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Emotions can be an out of control roller coaster. There are so many distractions. And, then there's the weather!
You might be wondering why now? Why am I revealing myself now, and in a golf manual? Well, truth be told, I'm concerned. Earth has the best golf courses in the Universe. Did you know that? And, you are on the verge of screwing it all up! I'm sad about that. And, I'm pissed. Plus, such thoughts and feelings are not helping my game one bit. And so, here I am, sharing my love of golf and being with you.
