#23 More Than Meets The Eye

Remus has many secrets, here's more than just a sexy, scar living, sweater loving hunk😉

Sirius and his friends were all sitting on their beds, talking amongst each other about random things when Sirius started to look at each of them and remember his experiences with them all. He had really found a new family here at Hogwarts and these would be people he knew he'd be with long after they left school. (Hush)

Sirius started thinking about Remus, as he often did, and realized that even though they'd known each other for a long time, there was a lot Sirius still didn't know about Remus, none of them knew much about Remus' past. Remus avoided most conversations when it came to talking about his childhood or other areas in his life, he was getting better at expressing himself, but still, Sirius wondered.

Remus was a very private person, Sirius wondered if he didn't fully trust him or if Remus was like this with everyone, Sirius thought he might ask Lily or one of the girls since they were his first friends here before Sirius, James and Pete came along.

"I'll be back guys, I've got to go annoy Lily for a second" Sirius smiled and got up and closed the door behind him as he heard a series of "okays" or "byes". Sirius knocked on Lily's dorm door and Marlene opened it,

"Hello good sir, can I help you?"

"Hello ma'am, why thank you, yes I have questions that mustn't be left unaddressed" Sirius clutched his chest and Marlene hit his arm and laughed at their stupidness,

"Come in"

Sirius walked into the dorm and Lily smiled, "can I practice my braids on you Sirius? Mary's hair is too short at the moment and I didn't want to ruin Dorcas' braids"

"Oh Dorcas was here?"

Lily covered her mouth like she'd spilled a secret before rolling her eyes, everyone knew, they just enjoyed teasing Marlene about her. Sirius sat on the floor and watched as Lily got the hairbrush and hair ties out of her drawer.

"I actually came to ask you guys something"

"Sure go for it" Mary laid down on her bed and put her head in her hands, waiting for whatever Sirius was anxiously wanting to ask.

"Does Remus trust me?" Sirius felt the hairbrush pause as Lily sat back and lent over his shoulder to look at him,

"Why would you ask that? Of course he does" Lily smiled gently, she was intrigued to see why Sirius would feel like this though, Remus hadn't told her about any fights recently.

"I was just thinking, I don't actually know much about Moony...he never tells us anything and I'm not sure if that's just a boundary he has with everyone or if it's because he doesn't trust I'd keep his secrets safe?"

"Remus is a genuinely private person, it's not a selective thing. He tries to keep his personal life and his life here at Hogwarts very separate" Marlene tried saying reassuringly,

"But if you have questions we might have some answers?" Mary nodded to Sirius, "I know we've known him longer, there are little hints he's told us"

"Ok..." Sirius wondered what would sound the least invasive but frankly all of his questions felt like they were intruding on Remus' life, "family?"

Lily sighed, "I don't know specifics but I know he doesn't have a lot, he never really told me anything about his parents"

"However I think we can all agree that he is actually from Wales based on that accent" Mary laughed and Marlene nodded with a smile.

"Ok well makes me feel better I'm not completely alone when it comes to his life, what about-"

"You know Sirius, I think out of all of us, Remus would probably be most comfortable answering these questions with you"
