Overall idea: Sirius finds a book and starts to read it, for once he's actually invested in a book, not realizing it's actually Remus' diary...

Sirius had been running around for hours trying to find James, they were just playing chase for the shits and giggles, but James had managed to hide somewhere Sirius couldn't find. Sirius went up the dorm stairs, hoping the map was still in his bedside drawer when he noticed a leather bound book on the floor.

"Don't remember Remus reading this one?...oh gods can you imagine his face if he saw me reading? Absolutely priceless" Sirius was laughing to himself at the idea of him sitting in a chair reading by a fireplace, he was laughing until he actually started reading some of the pages.

Sirius read the pages that were laid out and decided to start from the beginning, he was actually intrigued as to where this story began because it was written with such emotion. Sirius noted the book was written in first person, the person was a student just like him and at the end of each chapter it was signed with a cursive 'M'. Sirius wondered if that was a type of mystery in the book, if it was one of those books where by the end he had to work out who this mystery 'M' was.

Sirius completely forgot about the game with James and sat on his bed, he read through the pages and felt awful for the main character. The character would talk about nights where they transformed, as he continued to read he noticed the character spoke about the transformations as if they were just part of his life now, excerpts like "I'm used to the pain" or "last night was bearable". Sirius was almost feeling choked up when they described these transformations, the feeling of not being loved or more specifically not feeling like they were worthy of love.

As Sirius continued to read more characters were introduced and he met the main protagonist's friend group. There was one who reminded him a bit of Pete, he was a quieter kid but one who still had a witty sense of humor when he felt like it, one even reminded him of James, this ball of sunshine who, for what he lacked in intellect, made up for in incredible emotional intelligence. Then there was the last character, Sirius couldn't even wrap his head around why 'M' would be drawn to someone like that.

As Sirius read about this new friend, he found himself quite confused and almost disgusted with their behavior. He didn't know if that's because he was biased to the main character or if it was that this friend was a genuine asshole. Later on Sirius let out an audible gasp when he realized the main character had a crush on this friend!

"No way the guys a massive player you can do so much better! Oh why do they always pick the bad boys? Why can't he go got that sunshine boy, he'd treat them right"

Sirius read on with immense intrigue, this crush was by description quite attractive and seemed to be almost the opposite style to 'M', maybe this was an opposites attract situation? The main character described the friend as "flirtatious with everyone he meets and yet I still can't get the dumb fuck out of my head"

"If I knew all books could use language like that, I would read more" Sirius laughed, and just as quick as the laugh came it left as he read a small passage where the character had described this friend;

"But he's also full of light despite the darkness in his life, he's like a raging storm full of lightning except I'm not in danger when I'm near him, instead I'm just admiring that storm's beauty from the safety of my home. I'm sitting there admiring his storm grey eyes as he talks to me at a hundred miles an hour about gods knows what, but it's all ok, because all he cares about is whether I'm ok."
