Harley's Pov

It was the middle of the night, and I was woken up by my phone ringing. Blaze laid in bed next to me, keeping me warm. I turned over, picked my phone up, and looked at the number. I sat up quickly, suddenly feeling more awake than I have ever been.

Call Connected.

"Nick?" My voice came out scratchy from crying for so long. I don't even remember when I went to sleep, I just remember crying. Crying when I changed, crying when I laid in bed, and all of the boys sat with me, crying when Blaze laid on me.

"I listened to your voicemails." Both of our lines went silent, and I felt my heart skip a beat, as I smiled. I was listening to his voice. I was talking to him.

"Harley." His voice came out in a whisper, and I felt my heart pick up.

"Nicholas." I responded, laying against the headboard on the bed.

"I missed you, and it was so hard seeing you today and not being able to hold you."

"I know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to create a mess..."

That man doesn't love you, Ace! You don't even fucking exist to him anymore, so just stop! If he loved you, he wouldn't have let you go so easily.

"Why did you let me go so easily?" Silence took over the lines, and I didn't think I was going to get an answer. I closed my eyes, feeling the tears start to flow in.

"I didn't want to. I just wanted it to be easy on you. If i knew that you would've been gone for this long, i would've fought for us harder."

The sound of his voice sent chills through my whole body, and I could almost imagine him sitting right here next to me, talking to me.

"I can't wait much longer, Armstrong." His voice filled my ears, and I've never been more happy.

"I'm sorry." I spoke as normally as I could, even though the tears were falling from my eyes.

"You destroyed me, Harley Willows." I could hear his breaths from over the line, and I closed my eyes.

"I destroyed myself in the process." In breaking Nicholas Armstrong's heart, I broke my own.

"The contract is 10 years." I bit the inside of my lip.

"There are loopholes, I just haven't been able to fill them."

"Harley, I can't wait 5 more years for you." His voice cut the silence like a knife. I should've known that this was coming, but I understood him. And I hated that.

"I'm trying, Nick." My voice came out desperate, and I felt the tears run down my face.

"You said forever?" I whispered and I felt my heart start to break. All. Over. Again.

You said "forever"

"Forever isn't long enough for us, darling." His voice cracked, and I let the tears flow.

"You can't give up on us, Nick." I pleaded, in hopes of changing whatever thought he had in his head.

"It's been five years and you want me to wait five more?" As much as I wanted to tell him that he was ridiculous, he was right. I completely understood where he was coming from, but that didn't mean I was gonna go down without a fight.

In the end I fought it.

"Don't give up on us, Nicholas." I pleaded once again, and I heard a sob escape his lips.

"Be honest, Darling, I think we are better for it."

Please be honest, are we better for it?

"I'll be 30 by the time your contract ends, and what if it never ends? What if you get resigned? Then do you want me to wait another 10 years after that?" Every word he was saying was making complete sense. I just did not want to believe it.

"I thought you hated me because of Jessie-"

"Don't say another man's name while you're talking to me."

Though you'd hate me...

"I could never hate you, ever in a million years, Harley Armstrong."

"I could never hate you, Nicholas Willows." I responded as the tears ran down my face quicker than ever before.

"I have to do this Harley." His words came out forced, and I knew he didn't want to do this. But he was right. It was for the best.

"I love you, Forever, Armstrong." His voice came out in a whisper, and I swallowed back my tears and my pride.

"I love you, And Always, Willows."

Call Ended.
