(Mr Know It All By Kelly Clarkson)Harley's Pov
Last day in Texas. All I had to do was get through tonight's concert.
Part of me couldn't be happier, and the other half of me didn't want to leave. I would be leaving everything behind if Nick and I. For good. I would be cutting off everything that I've ever known in Texas, and I would be moving forward.
This city screams his name. Everything here reminds me of him, and it's emotionally draining. I have to pretend like I'm okay, when nothing is okay. I'm starting to really wonder if I did dodge a bullet. I'm starting to think, maybe, just maybe, Nicholas Armstrong is not the love of my life.
I feel like in these past five years, I've been chasing after someone who keeps looking behind me to make sure I'm still following, and when he got tired, there was no chase anymore.
"Ace, are you ready?" Jessie's voice sounded out in the room I was staying in.
I looked over at Nick's hoodie, laying on my bed. I always wore his hoodie, it made me feel safe.
"I'm ready." I eyed the hoodie as I walked by it, leaving it in the room with the rest of my belongings.
"Remember we have this interview and then a photo shoot for Macy News." Jessie looked down at his phone, and I patted my pockets. Forgetting he still had my phone.
"Yes, I know." I kept my response short and sweet, as we got into the blacked out SUV. My body felt like it was numb.
I felt like I couldn't feel any sort of emotion. I wasn't even happy to be doing an interview, and I love interviews. I love talking about where the boys and I are at with new stuff coming out.
"You okay?" Jessie's voice came out flat, as he stared at me with an emotionless look.
"I'm fine. Not like you would care anyways." I responded, looking out of the window of the car at the streets I used to call home.
"You're normally not this quiet." He observed and I closed my eyes, hoping the tears wouldn't be noticeable.
"I'm just tired."
Don't give up on us, Nicholas.
The buildings flew by, the streets were filled with walking people, and as I looked out, I hoped that he would be one of the faces I saw amoungst the crowd.
Be honest, Darling, I think we are better for it.
His words stabbed the already open wound, to the point where I stopped bleeding.
"Can you put a smile on your face?" Jessie rolled his eyes as the SUV stopped.
The crowd formed, being pushed back by security, and I looked out at the crowd from the car. The door opened, and I plastered my best smile on my face, as I got out of the car.
"Oh my god!" The screams erupted, and I smiled. I truly smiled. No matter what, these people would always be here, supporting me.
"Hey!" I walked over to a girl who was broken down crying. I wrapped my arms around her, and she cried even more.
"Ace, take a picture with me please!" I heard someone yell and I laughed running up to them with a smile on my face.
"Ready?" Jessie's Hand intertwined with mine and I looked up at him, smile now faltering.
