Seth's POV

I shook my head, "This is unbelieveable." I whispered. Aislin touched my shoulder and I looked into her eyes, "I'm scared." She whispered. I pulled her into a hug and was about to say something when a dark voice said, "You're right, my dear. She's not human. She's half." I pulled away from her and stood up, my anger flaring, "Go away." I growled at father. He laughed angrily, "Silence!" I clamped my mouth shut as he walked into the room, eyeing Aislin disgustingly. I let out another growl and all I got was a slap to the face. I spit out blood and felt Aislin's eyes on me. I looked at her and she was glaring hatefully at father. He stopped in front of the fireplace, gave Aislin an evil smile and said four little words that caught us all off guard:

"You're half vampire, Aislin."

Aislin's POV

I couldn't believe my ears. I couldn't believe it. How could I believe it? I was beginning to think I was going into shock because I just realized that I hadn't said anything and my mouth was wide open. I couldn't even think straight. Vampire? Half-vampire? He thinks I'm half-vampire?!! Ha!! I think he's either smoking pot or I'm going insane and hearing things. I felt someone touch my shoulder and I looked up to see everyone's eyes on me. I didn't do so well when all eyes were on me so...my face just heated up and I looked up at Seth who was watching me intently, "Are...are you alright?" he asked. I nodded and stood up off the couch and faced his father.

"Is this a sick joke? Vampires? Werewolves? They don't exist! So how could I be half? And why only half? What...how? This doesn't make any sense!! Someone explain this to me before I go completely haywire!!" I screamed. Seth placed two hands on my shoulders and gently sat me back down onto the couch, looking me straight in the eyes. I suddenly felt calm but still a little shaken up. "Calm down, love. Everything's going to be okay." he whispered to me. I took in a deep breath and leaned against his shoulder for support. His father began speaking again with that awful, rough voice of his.

"We do not lie, Aislin. I am telling you the truth. You are, and always have been since the day you were born, and always willbe, half vampire and half human." He spat. I glared menacingly at him and felt Seth tense up next to me, "Don't speak to her that way." He growled at his father. I flinched at his tone becuase I had never heard Seth sound so angry before. He must really not like his father.

His father just laughed at this and smacked Seth again with the same force he used on him before; without even touching him. Seth's head flew back and I saw a bruise beginning to form on his right cheek. Seth's eyes flared with such hate that I instinctively put my hand to his cheek and he calmed down. I looked into his eyes and then back up at his cruel father, "You have no right to treat him like that!" I yelled at him. Xavier, that's his name, laughed again and this time striked me with his invisible force. Causing my head wrench to the side and smack against the side of the couch, making so much pain erupt into my head that tears came to my eyes. That's when Seth had had enough and lunged at his father. Tearing at him with his canines and his eyes turned to a bright yellow.

I gasped and watched as Seth morphed into a beautiful, black wolf with piercing yellow eyes and he bared his teeth at Xavier who had also morphed into a wolf but with a greyish, white color. I watched in horror as his father lunged at him with full might and knocked him to the ground. I was afraid for Seth's safety because well, Xavier was twice his size and he had more experience. Though that didn't stop Seth from trying to rip his throat out.

Xavier jumped on Seth when he had stopped to try and shake out a piece of glass that was now making his front, right paw bleed and they both fell to the ground, breaking things with their enormous wolf bodies. I then felt someone else behind me morph and realized it was Jacob, Seth's older brother, that had and his sleek, brown form jumped into the fight and tried to stop it but now both Seth and Xavier were pissed and were fighting for life. My eyes widened once I saw how badly Seth's father had done damage to him. His left side had a huge gash in it and blood was oozing out rapidly from the wound while another gash formed from below his right eye, making it hard for him to see. There were other wounds along his body but the worst one had to be his hind leg. Flesh was ripped apart and was now hanging limply at the side of his leg while dark, red blood stained his beautiful black fur, making it painful for him to walk.
