                                                                                  Recap

Aislin's POV

"Aislin, are you alright?" He asked. But to me, it sounded distant. I groaned in response and fell the wind knock out from underneathe me. Jake caught me before I could hit the floor. Ht world around me felt...detached. Like I wasn't even there. I felt my eyes roll back in my head and soon heard shouts all around me. For a stupid reason, I wanted to laugh. I didn't know but it felt like I was dying and going crazy.

Ugh. A large headache then struck me and I closed my eyes in pain. But before I had even closed my eyes and sunk into the familiar sea of darkness, a form of somebody was by my side, stroking my hair and whispering something to me that I could not comprehend. I didn't know who it was though because I passed out before I could find out.

Aislin's POV

Damn. My head hurt like hell. No exaggeration there. When I opened my eyes, the light that was surrounding me nearly made me feel like my eyes were burning in acid. I let out a sharp yelp and threw my arm up to protect my eyes from the light. Eventually, the pain died down and I was able to remove my hand and sit up.

I noticed I was still at Jake's house and was laying down on the couch I had been sitting on before. Some parts in my body were soar and I grimaced painfully when a sharp stab came to my lower back. Talk about waking up on the wrong side.

I tried to stand up but my knees gave out the moment my feet touched the ground. I was sent hurtling towards the floor and landed on the ground with a harsh thud. I sighed in frustration before pushing myself up and sitting back down on the couch.

"Damn knees." I muttered. I jumped slightly when a familiar voice entered the room, "Yeah, you're legs must have fallen asleep while you were passed out." I whipped my head around to see Jake leaning casually against the entrance to the living room and frowned, "I wouldn't have passed out if you hadn't called me over here."

He ran a hand through his hair as he made his way over to the couch to sit next to me, "Yeah...sorry about that. It's just...well..." He paused and threw me an apologetic look that sent confusion across my face, "Just what? Come on, spit it out."

Jake sighed, "I...faked it." I raised an eyebrow and that's when understanding hit me, "You what?" I said bitterly. Jake grinned sheepishly at me and I would have exploded if he had not spoke, "Hear me out, Ace." I felt my eye twitch but resisted the urge to lunge at him. Instead, I folded my hands on my lap and nodded stiffly.

"Well, you see, there never really was something after us. We just pretended there was so you would come over to my house and try to inform my mother so she'd tell the pack." I nodded as he continued, "See, when you had got there, everyone was acting it out. My mother pretended to be worried--which I'm sure she would have been if it had been real--and Jade was there before you even showed up. We were acting."

I felt rage burn inside me like a fire as I spoke, "You tricked us?" Jake huffed impatiently, "Well, when you say it like that?!--" I jumped up and hissed at him, "How...how DARE you! Why the HELL would you joke about something so...STUPID!! UGH!! Jacob Blood, you are the most idiotic, selfish, annoying JERK I have EVER MET!!! What is WRONG WITH YOU?!!! I oughta beat you to a pulp to knock some sense into you because you obviously DON'T HAVE ONE!!!!!!" I screamed so loudly that it even hurt my own ears. But the only emotion that showed on his stupid face was humor and that only made me even more infuriated.

Jake stood up and that's when I took the chance to lunge at him. But to me, it seemed like he had been expecting it because the next second, I was on the ground being held back instead of him. I growled and thrashed around as he struggled to hold me down but eventually, he lost his grip on me and I was able to jump up and escape from his grasp.

"Aislin!! I wasn't done explaining!!" He screamed back. I froze and eyed him suspiciously, "Well then, continue." I said icily before folding my arms and sitting on the armrest of the couch. Jake's eyes were wide with exasperation but he soon shook his head and started to speak, "Well, as I was saying--" He gave me a hard look as he continued, "--we had been acting but it wasn't because we were 'tricking' you, Aislin. We had a reason to act it out and pretend it was real."

I rolled my eyes, "And what reason would that be?" I hissed. Jake smiled then. It wasn't really a creepy smile or a 'YAY, HAPPY DAY' smile. It was more of a knowing-something-that-I-didn't smile. I was about to scream at him again when he stopped me, "Instead of saying the reason, I think I can show it instead. You're gonna love me after this." His smile got bigger when his eyes were looking past me and he nodded slightly.

I gave him a weird look and said, "What are you looking at?" before I turned around and saw what he was staring at.

It was like the world around me froze completely when my eyes met beautiful, warm, caramel eyes. My breathing even stopped because all I could think about was the person in front of me. It was like we were the only two in existence and everything just felt perfect the way we were right then.

My mouth parted open slightly and I couldn't seem to breathe, blink or even think. All I could hear was the steady beat of my heart as it thumped a little faster each second our eyes held each other.

When he blinked finally, I was able to breathe again and the world started to move again. But this time, I felt different. Almost...new as I kept staring at the beautiful man before me. Only one word, one name escaped my lips and it felt even more perfect to say his name the way I did. Even if it did sound like a question.

"Seth?"
