Anyways, unto the story.

It had been two weeks since I moved to Narviven and a lot of weird stuff had happened.

Besides that, my social life was..normal. Michelle, Simone, Jay and I were closer than before. Avien bullied me every day and wouldn't leave me alone.

I had also been having dreams I couldn't understand.

It was weird.

"Gwen!" Michelle called as I walked out of school, I waved, "What's up?"

"Do you want to come with us to the haunted house?" Jay inquired, Simone gave him a little push, "How many times will I tell you," She said, "There's no such thing as 'haunted.'" My cousin said making air quotes with her fingers.

I walked over to them and grabbed my bike that was lying on the ground, "I don't have any homework so sure." I said shrugging.

The four of us cycled to the house. It was a big mansion with broken windows and a rusty iron gate, something out of a typical horror movie.

Michelle looked up at the building before us, "The inhabitants moved out some weeks ago after their son died." She said throwing her purple bike on the sidewalk.

"That's terrible." Simone frowned, "How did he die?"

"He fell from the second floor." Michelle answered.

"Why are we here again?" Jay asked as we entered the mansion, Michelle turned on the lights and they flickered.

"To get what we can." She smirked, "The former owners were super rich. Rumor has it they left some valuable items behind." The girl said, her voice had a hint of mystery behind it.

"Why would you care?" I wondered, "Aren't you also super rich?"

Michelle blushed bashfully and tugged at her hoody, "Yes..I'm just here for the adventure." She admitted admiring a small figurine. She placed the small object in her bag before taking out a scrunchie and fixing her short blonde hair into a messy bun. "Now, start looking, I need to be home by six."

I wandered around for a while with Simone looking for valuables. My cousin picked up a small heart shaped alarm clock, "Do you think this would be worth anything?" She asked and I shrugged. "Maybe."

Simone placed the clock in her bag, "I'll look in the other room." I said pointing at a room down the hall. Simone nodded, "Mkay."

I walked into the dark room and tried switching the lights on, but it didn't work. Before I could try again, the lights flickered and came on by themselves.

In the corner, I noticed a drawer and searched through it. I found a golden watch and a necklace. They looked valuable so I put the items in my bag.

"What are you doing?" I heard a voice ask behind me as a looked through a third drawer. "What do you think?" I asked sarcastically assuming it was Jay.

"That's very rude." The voice said and I rolled my eyes.

"Jay look, I-"

Turning around, my eyes didn't meet Jay's. It was a young boy with dark hair and piercing blue eyes standing there. He couldn't be older than nine.

The boy staggered backwards, "Wait..You can actually see me!?" He exclaimed, "I was just messing around!"

I rubbed my eyes, he was still there. "Who are you?"

"I should be asking you that question." The blue-eyed boy glared crossing his arms, "You're the one breaking and entering."

I furrowed an eyebrow in disbelief. Who did this boy think he was?

"Breaking and entering?" I laughed, "This an abandoned house. You're the one who doesn't belong here, go back to your parents." I said waving him off.

The boy sighed and looked down with a gloomy expression. "What?" I asked him.

"My parents are gone." He said frowning, "They left me after I died."

My eyes widened as I stepped back, "W-what do you mean..After you died?"

"I'm a soul, you're a seer. You should know that." The boy shrugged.

What on Earth?

I rubbed my eyes, he was still there. Slapped myself, still there. Banged my head against the wall, the boy was still there.

 No, no ,no, no.

Ghosts couldn't be real!

They only existed in the movies!

Fiction!

Just to make sure, I pinched myself and squeezed my eyes shut, saying a silent prayer to anyone who might hear me for my sanity to return as this boy in front of me couldn't be real.

He was still there when I opened my eyes, staring at me like I was the one who was imaginary!

Maybe, if I threw something he would go away?

So I did and it went right through him. The golden watch went right through this strange boy.

"Hey!" He yelled at me with a huge frown, " That was very mean!!! "

I wondered if I was coming down with something when suddenly I remembered the letter.

The shadows with red eyes.

The lady in the chair.

It was all...real?

Holy shit.

"Are you okay?" The boy asked me. His anger has disappeared now replaced with a look of concern. I looked at him with the widest eyes ever.Head still racing.

"What's your name?"

"Thomas."

"How did you die?"

"I fell." Thomas told me, "The butler pushed me."

I took in a lot of information at that moment. I needed time to process everything. I needed time to think.

"Gwen!" A voice called from downstairs, snapping me out of my daze. Michelle.

"Coming!" I yelled back still staring at this ghost boy.

"Who's that?" Thomas asked me. "My friends." I told him, "I need to go now."

"No!" Thomas exclaimed just as I was about to leave. "Don't leave me here. I'm lonely." He sniffed with the most adorable puppy eyes.

"Come with me then." I smiled and he shook his head, "I can't leave my place of death. Didn't Fate tell you?"

"Who's Fate?"

"The creator." Thomas laughed, "Wow, you really don't know anything about the DIVISION."

He was right, I didn't know anything about the DIVISION. I'd forgotten most things in the letter. All I remembered was the Legion and the Daemons.

"Are you still leaving?" Thomas asked again after Michelle called me a second time.

"Yes. But, I promise I'll visit."

Simone walked into the room, "You've been up here for so long." She said, "What's going on?"

Thomas looked at her then smiled at me. I gave him a small grin.

"Nothing." I told Simone shrugging, "Let's go."
