Day 19: Flowers

Cortez woke up with a massive headache and shivered violently causing her feathers to ruffle in discomfort. It took a few minutes for her eyes to adjust to her surroundings but once she had received enough sharpness the teen realized she was not in her room. It was white instead of soft-blue, and she could hear beeping from some kind of monitor.

The Thermo teen was confused. How did she get here? The last time she remembered that she was getting ready for class when she suddenly felt a cold sweat and her legs felt achy and cold. Other than that she felt fine, it was when she entered the elevator with Bakugou who happened to be on the same floor as her.

He did ask her if she was ok as apparently, he noticed she looked pale. Cortez did say she was fine, but the moment the elevator moved down was when she felt her blood drain and everything went black, barely hearing her classmate yell her name.

I guess I am in the hospital, this is not Recovery Girl's office. She thought and looked to the side next to the window, blinking in surprise at who was sitting in the guest chair.

"P-pommy?" She said and was surprised at how weak her voice sounded.

It jolted the teen up though as he had been hit with lightning when he heard the nickname only Cortez has for him. "Aurora! Thank god you are awake! You scared me and the other half to death!"

Cortez blinked a few times to keep in focus. "What happened?"

Bakugou growled. "I was hoping you would tell me, the moment the elevator moved you just passed out. Lucky I caught you or you would have hit your head on the rail."

Cortez looked up in thought, still confused at the situation. "I-I actually don't know what had happened, all I know is that my legs felt cold and aching and I was in a cold sweat. It was like my body was on the verge of shutting down but a second later I would come back."

Bakugou grunted and looked down in thought. "When was the last time you had a steady supply of calcium in your diet?"

Cortez started cursing in Spanish and Bakugou just sweatdropped.

"I'm guessing that you weren't getting enough."

"No, no me gusta. I am tired of milk or anything that resembles it!"

"That could be what happened, Aurora. Your calcium may have dropped too low. It definitely relates to some of the symptoms."

Cortez huffed but did not argue. Bakugou was right, when it comes to nutrition and diet he knows what is needed for each person.

"I'll explore some options and see if I can find recipes that might help you. You will have to deal with the milk until then. Got it."

"...Sure."

Just then there was a knock on the room door and they saw Todoroki come in. He then saw that his girlfriend was finally awake and he smiled in relief.

"Luna! How are you feeling?"

"Like shit...I can't lie to you there." Cortez said honestly, and Bakugou just chuckled. That is something he would say.

"Thanks for keeping an eye on her while I was out, Bakugou." Todoroki said and smiled.

"Hey, no problem. Just don't expect this to be a normal occurrence." Bakugou replied and started to walk out of the room. He subtly patted Todoroki's shoulder in a silent gesture before he rounded on Cortez again.

"Remember, get back to drinking milk or anything calcium rich or I will force it down your throat!"

"You do that pendejo and I will kick you to oblivion!"

"Whatever." Bakugo replied with a smirk and walked out.

"Always the charmer." Cortez replied with a deadpan, but she knew he meant well. She then looked up at her boyfriend. "Sorry to scare you, Canelo. I didn't know how that happened other than probably calcium deficiency."

"I had a feeling as I noticed for the last several months you were avoiding anything diary related. Even yogurt." Todoroki said and walked closer. "I have something for you." In Todoroki's hands was a vase full of Tiger Lilies. Not just any Tiger Lilies, but the Splendens which were peach in color with deep purple spots on the petals. Cortez's absolute favorites.

"Canelo, where did you find these? They are amazing!" She said taking the vase and smelling the fragrance of the flower's aroma.

"There was a flower shop in Tattooin where they specially grow these particular lilies." Todoroki smiled when he saw her light up. "Once you are able to leave the hospital we can take them to your room, I am sure they will love the view."

Cortez giggled and her smile lit up the room. "Of course, thank you."
