Day 24: Caught In the Rain

Cortez was flying towards Hawk's place when she received a phone call asking her to come over for something special. It was pretty windy as a storm was coming and judging by the different bursts of wind gusts it was going to be big. She was hoping she would arrive there on time but when the Thermal teen detected a strong smell of Ozone she cursed as her instincts were telling her to land now.

So she had no choice but to land and continue walking towards the location. It was perfect timing as a few minutes after she had landed, a flash of lightning struck one of the towers and rain started to fall.

"Great, a bird caught in the rain...my wings are soooo happy right now..." Cortez said sarcastically and continued to walk along the sidewalk. The sky became even darker and rain became heavier, pelting the teen's wings as she was using them as an umbrella. Eventually, she got to a house with a plaque labeled Takami and knocked on the door. Hawks opened the door to see a very pissed and soaking Cortez.

"Dragonet! Thank goodness you got here ok. How was your trip here?" Hawks laughed and his feathers ruffled when he sensed a little of her KI.

"I was caught in the rain and you are asking me if I was ok?" Cortez said and violently shook her wings, effectively getting water all over the floor and Hawks. He jolted and looked at himself with a little disgust. "Does that answer your question?"

"Haha, I guess you got me there." He said in defeat, then stepped aside. "Go ahead and dry off, your spare clothes are in the usual room."

"Thanks, Hawks." Cortez said finally and walked to her room. She decided to warm herself up by taking a hot shower as in her current state she could not use her Quirk. Her own temperature dropped too low, so she did not want to risk thermal shock.

She sighed in massive relief as the hot water soaked through her bones and it felt good. Another problem was that winter was coming, so the rain made it much colder. That was another reason why she couldn't heat up right now, she had already depleted her energy from the flight.

Cortez finally got out of the shower, dried herself with a towel, and used an air dryer for her wings. Once they fully dried she ruffled them up to straighten them out and put on her clothes. She then walked downstairs and went to the living room. That was where she saw Hawks and another person, a person with pink hair. Her eyes opened wide.

Hawks turned and saw her standing at the door frame. "Dragonet! I have a surprise for you!" He said and pointed towards the pinkette. "I think I found someone who you may know."

The pinkette stood up and turned to face Cortez. She saw that he had a red scale-like body, sharp dragon claws, and dragon-type wings. His eyes were sharp and had onyx-colored dragon eyes. "Hola, hermanita."

She could not mistake it, the look of this teen resembled someone she had not seen in 10 years. And his scent, the smell of a summer breeze.

"Apollo?"
