Physical activity never was your forte. You could hold your own in a real fight, but when it came to running, lifting or exercise in general you were less than impressive.
On the other hand, Izuku was absolutely jacked. You had only seen him shirtless a few times around the house when the weather was too hot, and the brief glimpses you saw nearly sent you into a crisis. Whatever All-Might did to train him definitely worked because your scrawny little friend now was built like a Greek god. You suspected that Izuku had enough experience and strength to be a formidable opponent even without his Quirk.
That suspicion was more than confirmed when, completely without his Quirk, he ended up nailing you in the stomach with enough force to send you flying backwards around 5 feet.
You hit the ground hard, feeling winded and dizzy. The gym ceiling spun above you as your brain struggled to regain its senses.
"Y/N!" Izuku's worried face appeared above you. "Are you alright!?" His visage doubled and kept coming in and out of focus as you tried to blink yourself back into being.
Once you could regain enough oxygen to respond, you let out a very long "Ooooooowwwwwww."
"I'm so sorry!" He said frantically. "I thought you would block it!"
You groaned, "Ngh, S'like being hit by a train....."
Izuku looked immensely guilty, "Was it really that bad!?"
You nodded weakly.
"Gah! I'm so sorry!" He grabbed your shoulder and pulled you into a sitting position. "I didn't mean to punch that hard, honest!"
You wheezed out a laugh, "If that's how you punch your friends I can't imagine how you hit your enemies."
He laughed nervously, "I definitely don't plan on making it a habit with you."
"Everything ok?" Aizawa asked, approaching your training mat.
"All good, I just need a second," You assured. "Hercules over here decided to vacate my soul from my body."
"I said sorry!" He whined, holding out his hand. You laughed and allowed him to help you to your feet.
"We'll put Midoriya on defense for now then," Aizawa concluded. "We can't risk you getting your teeth knocked out by accident."
You looked at him perplexed, "Aizawa Sensei, why am I even doing this? I thought I was supposed to just be training my Quirk...."
{Being invited to a sparring session with 1-A by Aizawa had been a surprise. Your only reason being here was to work on not setting yourself on fire so you were confused as to why you were being instructed to come early for fighting practice on top of regular training. That being said, Izuku seemed so excited to have you around you couldn't really feel pressured to inquire.}
"The Sports Festival is only a few weeks from now," Aizawa said. "If you intend to compete, you should be prepared to fight properly. You are far behind the class. If you intend to catch a pro's attention you will need more than just your Quirk."
Izuku lit up, "The Sports Festival!?" He turned to you excitedly. "Are you really going to compete?"
You smiled slightly, "I mean, if I can. Although after that hit I'm not quite sure how well I would fare...."
"You'll be amazing!" Izuku said excitedly. "You're a fast learner! I can show you some tricks."
Aizawa nodded, "Carry on then."
He then turned to deal with Mina on the mat next to you who had wrangled Denki into a headlock.
Izuku eagerly hopped onto his spot on the mat and readied his fists. "Ok! Let's do this."
