"That's.....probably not a good sign...." You muttered, pinching a lock of your hair between your fingers. Your hair looked the same it had always been, save for the snowy roots growing out from all over your head and disrupting the regular Color. It was shocking, natural and soft against your head and shockingly, blindingly white.

Your reflection was no different, but the sight of the colourless strands made you feel like you were looking at a completely different person.

Was that a side effect of your Quirk?

Was it just stress?

Surely it wouldn't be permanent....right?

'You need to dye it,' Dabi's voice said in your head, causing you to jump. 'Or find a way to cover it or something. The change is too obvious.'

{Ever since your nightmare, his presence in your head was becoming far more prominent. You could hear his thoughts and conversations with himself in your head. Very unsettling, but you assumed it was just a side effect of vestige. One of the many seemingly never ending side effects of the Quirk apparently.}

'What!? Why?' You thought back. That was certainly new, you hadn't heard any sign of vestige outside of your dreams before.

'Hide it.'

"Y/N! Izuku yelled running upstairs. "You got mail!"

Scrambling, you shoved a beanie onto your head as Izuku entered your shared room. A large stack of paper was held in his grasp alongside a couple of envelopes

"Oh good! You're awake," he said excitedly. "Lots of goodies came for you!"

"Who from?" You asked.

"Well, this is from your parents," he said nervously, handing you a small envelope.

Hey son,

I heard you did well at the sports festival. Didn't have time to watch the full thing but your mother and I were impressed with what we saw. Can't wait to see you for Christmas.

Love

Dad + Mom

The letter was unique having been written from your dad for once, but it was shallow and meaningless.

Since the festival, you hadn't felt the urge to burn anything. But now, looking at this paper, you felt ready to take the whole apartment down.

Sparks flew from your fingertips, making Izuku jump and narrowly avoiding igniting the letter.

"Uh, nothing good I take it?" He asked.

You sighed and lowered the letter trying to will the bitterness away. You had never been quick to anger, but it felt like you were gonna be set off like a firework if you reread the message.

"Same old, same old...." you grumbled, perching it up on the table alongside the others.

At least they bothered to write. You knew a few other kids whose parents didn't bother to while overseas. You were lucky in that regard, but you still wished that they could be more present in your life than just a source of financial support and letters.

"Hey, on a better note, are you excited for your internship?"

"Mostly nervous," you said honestly. "Shoto seems upset about it, I think he's worried about his father being....." you gestured vaguely.

Izuku nodded, "Yeah I understand....."

"Hey, who are you mentoring with?" You asked. "You got tons of offers. Who did you pick?"

Izuku flushed, "Well....he used to be All-Mights teacher....."

"Gran Torino!?" You said excitedly. "No way! You must be so pumped!"
