Izuku yawned and dipped the rag into the water bowl at his side.

You whimpered in your sleep, looks of pain and agony flickering across your face as your body temperature started to rise again. Cremation spurred sparks of blue from your fingertips and were only suppressed by the wet sheets wrapped around your arms.

Izuku placed the fabric over your forehead and breathed a sigh of relief as you relaxed under the cool water.

After your panic attack on the rooftop, Izuku escorted you to the bedroom and you immediately fell into a fitful sleep. You had acted like a different person to him then, barely lucid

Your suppressors were becoming obsolete fast. He would rather report it to Aizawa immediately, but he knew that it be far better to wait until after the internship so you could get training from fire wielders. He didn't want to ruin your try at heroism by worrying too much.

He considered you getting a Quirk so late, nothing less than a miracle. Even if the drawback was great, Izuku wanted you to succeed using it and achieve your dreams together. He could already imagine your future working as a duo together, supporting and helping each other just like brothers.

He loved your hero name that Shoto had picked and he was excited to see your hero costume.

He smiled, feeling your temperature begin to drop through the cloth. He took his hand and rested it against your head, only to receive a soul rattling jolt instead. You winced in your sleep and curled up, seeming only mildly disturbed by the feeling that set his teeth on edge.

Getting himself together, he placed his hand against your head.

Nothing.

You were a little warm, but there was no jolt or shock.

"Probably just in my head," he muttered, unable to fully shake the feeling from his mind.

Once your temperature was low enough, he set aside the towel and basin and turned to his bed. The clock on his nightstand indicated that hours had passed and it was now around 2:00am. He groaned and flopped onto the mattress.

Gran Torino had been merciless and he was not looking forward to how his muscles would feel tomorrow.

As soon as he got home he wanted to go to bed.

He looked over to where you were soundly laying, a serene expression on your face.

Izuku knew he would be exhausted tomorrow after staying up so late, but he didn't regret it one bit if it meant you slept soundly.

~~*~~

He was right in front of you, so close you could reach out and touch him. You played the image in your mind, placing your hand out and allowing cremation to burn him to nothing.

His death would be agonizingly painful, burned alive in front of the people that thought he was a hero. Then you step out and reveal his crimes to the public, triumphant and shining over the charred corpse of a true villain.

Endeavor turned to the side, and your resolve shattered as his blue eyes scanned the public. You wanted him to look at you.

How could it be that you wanted to prove yourself to a man you wanted to kill?

Perhaps patience was the key, you would need to show Endeavor who you were before you killed him, prove yourself as a force of power and a genuine threat.

You would need to prove yourself equal before you took him down. Show that you were more than just a trainee.

And then Shoto poked you and you returned to reality.
