26. Rage, Redemption and Regret

{Like all good things do, your summer came to an end. After returning to Musutafu you only had one or two days to relax before it was back to U.A. You would be moving into dorms after the first week so your time was limited away from surveillance. That meant anything you needed to do for your homeless friends would have to be done within the next 7 days.}

"I can't believe you guys have been stuck in here for a week now," you muttered, placing a new box of supplies down on the warehouse floor.

Spinner frowned, "Did you expect us to get jobs or something?"

You hummed, "I guess not. League of underpaid cashiers doesn't exactly have the same ring to it..."

"How was your little vacation?" Toga asked. She skipped over and threw an arm around your shoulder. "Did you have fun."

No.

You got disowned.

But you didn't really want to talk about that.

You may have bonded with the Todoroki's but you lost your family name.

"It was fine," you said. "How have you been holding out?"

She smirked and leaned in close to your face, dropping her body on you so you had to grab around her waist to keep her on her feet. "Me and Dabi celebrated Obon together! We danced on a grave!"

You laughed, not in the least bit surprised that they would do something like that. "Well, I'm glad you got to spend some time out of this place." You gave Toga a chocolate bad and she released you from her hold, giggling happily at the food.

"Thank you." Shigaraki said. "Your assistance is immensely valuable"

I'm not sure what your goals are, but the League is in your debt." He said. His gratitude so out of character it made you pause.

"Yeah...." You looked down, hiding your face. You felt good about helping, but knowing what your help could result in for you made it feel a lot less pleasant.

It was hard to remind yourself that they are supposed to be the enemy, that they would kill the heroes you adored at a moment's notice.

"What's next for you?" You asked. "Gonna make a base here?"

Shigaraki sighed, "Hell no, this place's stats are too low. I sent Dabi, Magne and Spinner out to find recruits and a new base. We haven't found any new members, but Twice has a lead for a new potential ally and base. Everything goes to plan. We will likely be out of here in a week."

You had been wondering where the others were. You supposed it made sense that Shigaraki wasn't letting them just laze around all week.

"We are all doing our best to make the most of this horrible situation," Kurogiri said. "Regardless of our numbers, we will be seeking new residences soon and moving forward with our usual plans."

"Are you finally gonna join us?" Toga asked excitedly. "Please say yes!"

You bit your lip, "I'm going to be moving into the dorms at U.A next week. They are super high security so,.I'm probably not going to see you guys for a while...."

"Hm....." Shigaraki tilted his head, peering at you through blue bangs. "I guess we will be seeing each other on the other side of the battlefield next time our paths cross...."

You swallowed thickly, "Y-yeah....I guess so....."

He scoffed, "Oh well, at least you'll be happy with your hero friends." Pinkie raised, he pulled a small device out of his pocket and handed it to you.

It was an old phone, they type with a keypad on the bottom.

"Dabi told me to give this to you if you dropped by. It's so he will still be able to help you with your Quirk once we leave. It's untraceable." Shigaraki explained.
