** Brooklyn's pov **
Two weeks after getting woken up by the members of NCT Dream in their practice room and their album being released, Brooklyn was sitting in a random conference room in the company building.
SM Entertainment not being completely stupid about scandals, knew that they had to schedule a meeting with HYBE to talk about their two idols. If they wanted to release the dance practice video and not cut out a large portion of the end of it due to a certain Canadian woman sitting in the corner.
Mark's manager and Mark were sitting across the table from me and my manager, while higher company staff were seated on either side of us.
"The one thing that I want to know is why you were there that late?" an older man questioned with a slight scowl on his face.
My manager went to lean forward and start speaking for me before I cleared my throat, "I was there visiting a friend." I spoke bluntly. Taking a small breath I readjusted in my seat, "I'm sorry- Would this even be a problem if I wasn't a woman?" I questioned while glancing back and forth between the company staff.
The man that asked the questions sputtered a few times trying to come up with a response before the head publicist came into the room, "Now, I don't really see why we can't release that they grew up together and are friends. Don't you?" She spoke while glancing at all of the other men at the table.
When they nodded I turned to look at Mark with a small smile only to be met with him already looking at me with a brighter smile then the one I was wearing.
His manager stood up and bowed towards everyone, "Well I guess that's the end of this meeting then. Come on Mark, let's get back to practice." he spoke while gesturing for the mentioned man to follow him out of the room.
As he walked out of the room he waved to me before disappearing into the vast hallway of HYBE. I was about to get up and announce that I was leaving before my manager pulled me back down.
"One more thing Brooklyn." the head publicist spoke.
Slowly lowering myself back into my seat I nodded my head, "We need you to be the first one to make a statement about it. It might come across better if you make it instead of us." She said to me with a tip lipped grin.
There it was. I should've known that this was going way too well for a normal meeting with the publicists. One wrong word that I used could send this into a completely different realm.
Instead of arguing I just nodded my head and watched as the rest of the staff filed out of the room including my manager. As soon as they were all out of the room and the door closed behind them I reached into my back pocket and pulled out my phone.
Opening my own Instagram account, I clicked on the button to create a new post. Taking a few minutes to find a couple old and recent pictures of me and Mark, I started to write the caption.

"Hi FEARNOT's !!
There is something that is coming out soon that might cause some concern for some fans.
This involves NCT member Mark Lee or Lee Min-hyung. As in the pictures shown above we have known each other since childhood. We have reconnected with each other over the past few months and in a result have been seen around each other recently.
We have been best friends and have missed each other due to the busyness of our careers. I hope that you continue to support both me and Markie and that you will enjoy seeing two friends reconnect after many years!

Before taking a deep breath and hitting the post button.
This was going to go either one of two ways: the fans would support our friendship and think that it's cute that we have been friends for so long, or they don't like us being friends at all and don't want us to be around each other anymore.
All me and Mark could do was hope that it was the first one.
Gathering my thoughts for a few more seconds, I finally stood up and made my way out of the room. I didn't know what I was supposed to do for the rest of the day. The girls were somewhere in a practice room on live, I think.
I didn't know if I was going to be allowed to go and join them, especially with what I just put out. Walking down the hallway towards the elevator, I remembered that in less then two days I needed to have a song finished before it's final round of editing.
Oh god I was so fucking screwed.
Hurrying into the elevator I clicked the button that was studio was hidden in before leaning against the railing. It was only about two in the afternoon so I had time to work on it for quite awhile.
Maybe the work that Yoongi sunbae had done had filled that weird feeling I had about it. Of course it probably would. I mean its Min Yoongi. He's a producing genius.
Rushing out of the elevator and slightly jogging to my studio door and hurriedly putting in the keycode I was shocked to see that someone was sitting in my swivel chair. Mark Lee.
His head turned with a bright smile when he heard the commotion of me coming into the room, "Hi." he muttered lightly.
Smiling back at him, taking a few steps closer to him, I took notice to how he had taken his hat off and was just letting his hair free. Tossing my phone on my desk before I placed myself right in front of him, "Hi." I muttered while looking down at him.
Nothing was said between us.
There wasn't any need to, we both knew what each other was going to say anyways. We knew that even if we tried to talk about what we were thinking it couldn't be put into words.
