The only thing Taehyung could think of when he first spoke to Chaewon was that there couldn't be a more contrasting human in the world. When dating Jimin, she became a completely different person from what Taehyung thought she was: she rejected him every time he wanted to hold her hand, but she stole kisses and licked his lips when they were stained with ice cream; she rolled his eyes every time people passed him and commented under their breath about his explosive laugh.
Taehyung had no idea she had that kind of personality. The little that he sometimes heard was that she was good in her classes, she had few friends and she enjoyed basketball. From the descriptions, he thought she was a curious, if not random, woman. That day, however, after introducing herself properly and walking out for ice cream, he realized she was just a person.
"Surprising, I know," Chaewon took some more of Jimin's bottle, taking a deep breath, "but I really feel like it's a good opportunity for me." Taehyung nodded with a smile, while Jimin retrieved the bottle from her with a pout. "I always liked traveling, and if I dedicate myself to the company, I will be able to go everywhere." She laughed amused and Taehyung followed. It was hard not to laugh with her.
Jimin finished his bottle in one gulp, not waiting to see if his new girlfriend wanted more; at this, Chaewon looked at him indignantly.
"Eat." She indicated Jimin under her gaze, pulling her plate closer to her almost full of it. Taehyung looked at them entertained, until he remembered something and took out his phone.
There was still nothing.
"And what about you, Taehyung-ah? What do you plan to do after you graduate?" Chaewon asked.
"Oh, uhm..." Taehyung spoke without taking his eyes off the phone "I guess I don't know yet. It all depends on what Namj-" he cut himself off, clearing his throat and putting the phone down for cover. "From what happens with my family."
"I see..." Chaewon played with her chopsticks on his plate "but, you must have aspirations of your own."
"At the moment it's just finishing. Drop all the rumors and move on."
"By the way, with that, the photo thing, did you solve it well?" Chaewon asked awkward questions as if they were usual. Jimin had also warned Taehyung about that; but, even so, that specific comment caused a little choking for the young man who had formally gone out to have a coffee.
"That...yes, my lawyer is investigating it. We almost know who did it, but I don't know, to be honest I don't understand half of what he's saying." Taehyung was honest. He had had several video call sessions with the lawyer accompanied by Namjoon, but everything had been too complicated for him. There were times when after finishing the session he just wanted to sleep. It had become stressful for both of them, constantly being on guard when in campus to see if Hoseok was near them. They hadn't seen him in a while, but still couldn't get enough of being extra careful with one another and barely even looking in each other's direction for too long.
"Those sons of bitches," Jimin commented, "what they did wasn't fair."
The table fell silent. Chaewon almost gasped at the attitude of his boyfriend since she was completely unaware of that side of him. Taehyung was also surprised, and for a moment he was alarmed by the presence of a woman facing such cursing. He was quick to try to remedy the situation.
"Jimin, I don't think you should say something like that in front of-"
"Yes, they can suck my dick." Chaewon said, and Jimin snatched turning to look at her. "Actually, they can suck our dicks."
The atmosphere became unnecessarily serious, until Jimin started laughing, followed by the rest of the table.
"But seriously," Chaewon turned to Taehyung again "don't think too much about stupid rumors. They never do anything good and it's just because they don't have anything better to do."
