Axel paced in place on the bottom floor of the compound.

"Father! I don't know if this was some kind of test, alright," Axel shouted, trying to get Chuck's attention or even Lucifer's, "To go from being the grandest being alive to being subjected to a bratty hybrid!"

Everyone came out of their rooms, hearing Axel shouting.

"Dammit, I know you can hear me," Axel shouted, "I'm done with babysitting grown-ass men who throw tantrums like they're children! I failed this mission! The least you can do is answer me, you son of a bitch!"

Axel licked his lips and chuckled to himself.

"Was 75 years of my time on this earth not enough," Axel shouted, "I haven't seen my baby brother in 75 fucking years! Yet, I have to deal with this bullshit regularly! Someone answer me!!"

He panted as he tried to calm down. His body shook with rage as he could sense the eyes watching him.

"Axel."

He turned to face Lucifer. He stormed up to him.

"I'm done, okay," Axel said, "You can punish me all you want to in heaven. I tried to stay strong. I really did. But I hate it here."

"I know."

"You can give me the worst wars of the millennium and I will handle it," Axel said, "But I refuse to babysit him!"

Axel pointed directly to Klaus, who glared back.

"So punish me if you wish," Axel said, "But he is the most childish, self-centered, prideful, and arrogant fool I have ever met! And I have only known him for a day!"

Lucifer let Axel get his rage out.

"I miss my brother," Axel said, "And I miss my home. I'm sure Jack doesn't even know who I am. Does he remember me?"

Lucifer nodded slowly.

"He asks about you every day," Lucifer said softly, "We tell him whatever we can. But he remembers you... He loves you."

Axel's eyes went bloodshot as if he was going to cry.

"I'm not strong enough for this test," Axel said, "My patience is worn thin. Just get someone else to take care of this, please... I want to hug my brother again."

Lucifer sighed deeply and hugged Axel tightly. It was against the rules for angels to show forms of physical affection on duty. But at the moment his son needed comfort, so the rules would have to wait.

"I'm sorry," Lucifer whispered, holding onto him, "There is nothing I can do. I wish there was, I really do but..."

Axel turned his head, trying to hold back his tears.

"I understand," Axel said, blinking as the tears refused to be stopped.

"You'll get through this," Lucifer reassured, "I know you can..."

"I'm not strong enough," Axel said, shaking his head.

"You are strong enough," Lucifer said, "You're my son. That's how I know you are. So lift your head up, shake the dirt from your wings, and show whose grace runs through your soul. Okay?"

"Tell Jack..."

"I will. You know I will," Lucifer reassured, knowing what he was gonna say.

Then Lucifer left him again. Axel began wiping his face before Elijah handed him a handkerchief.

"Thanks," Axel said, using it to clean his face.

"Are you alright," Elijah asked.

"I'm fine..."

"You're not," Elijah said, making him give eye contact, "I have watched over Neeklaus for centuries. I know how infuriating it can be."

"You must be the most patient man on this planet," Axel said.

"No. There were times I got frustrated with him," Elijah said, "Yelled, shouted, thrown things... Thrown him."

Axel smirked at the thought of Elijah throwing Klaus across the room.

"But after a while, I started noticing the small things that made me appreciate my brother's company," Elijah said, "Like... How peaceful and quiet he is when he is unconscious."

Axel chuckled and shook his head.

"On a more serious note, he likes painting," Elijah said, smiling, "He likes being around his siblings, no matter how much we drive him up a wall or vice versa. He has an odd fascination with peanut butter... That must be the werewolf side because it never made sense to me."

Axel laughed a bit harder at the teasing.

"But most of all, when Neeklaus loves and cares for someone... He shows it in ways you'd never expect," Elijah said, "He has a big heart. One that he only shares with those he knows won't break it any more than it is already broken."

"Thanks for checking on me, Elijah," Axel said.

"It's only fair that I did," Elijah said, "I never got a chance to properly thank you for saving Neeklaus and me. And for taking out that group of vampires for us."

Axel gave him a smile and glanced at the handkerchief.

"Did you want me to wash this," Axel asked.

"You've done enough for the day," Elijah smiled, "Keep it."

Elijah walked away from him, leaving Axel alone to ponder on his words. He slowly smiled to himself.

"Okay, Klaus. If you need love and affection, I'm gonna love you so much it hurts."
