WARNINGS: Mentions Of Mental Illness

Axel was packing his belongings when he felt his father's presence.

"Going somewhere," Lucifer asked, walking into his room.

"You heard them, Father. They don't feel safe with me here. So I'm leaving," Axel said.

"Axel, they're idiots. They just know you're stronger than them," Lucifer reasoned.

"And that is the problem," Axel sighed.

"Hey, talk to me," Lucifer said, grabbing his wrist, "Please."

"I don't enjoy the feeling of others fearing me. I mean I do, but at the same time it's too much for me," Axel explained, "I get flashbacks."

Lucifer sat down on his bed.

"Tell me about them," Lucifer said.

"Father..."

"Axel, please. I want to know how to better help you," Lucifer said, "Most of the time, you're either training or in here. You rarely talk to anyone unless they speak first. You've barely spoken to Jack, which is unusual behavior from you."

"I don't want him to see me like this," Axel said, hanging his head.

"Like what? Vulnerable? Emotional," Lucifer asked.

"Weak. I don't want him to see me weak," Axel corrected.

"Emotions don't make you weak, son. They make you human," Lucifer reasoned, "For you, you feel them more intensely than others."

"Is that what you call it," Axel scoffed.

"Your illness so happens to give you symptoms that terrify others," Lucifer said, "It also means you're still human."

"Half human," Axel corrected.

"My mistake. Half human, half badass archangel," Lucifer smirked, making Axel chuckle, "Now talk to me before making any drastic moves, okay?"

Axel sat down next to Lucifer.

"I... I try to avoid addressing the flashbacks because it usually makes others uneasy," Axel shrugged.

"Try me," Lucifer smiled.

Axel explained the ones of when he was younger. The damage and death he caused. The slaughtering of dozens of angels. By the end of his explanation, he seemed the same.

"That's not it," Lucifer said, shaking his head.

"Pardon," Axel asked.

"That's not what's triggering you," Lucifer explained, "Your illness doesn't react unless it's triggered by something."

"Maybe it's just me," Axel reasoned.

"No... Have you told Jack about this," Lucifer asked.

"Well, no," Axel said.

"What about that lover of yours," Lucifer asked, talking about Klaus.

"I haven't told anyone," Axel said, shaking his head, "But you, Dean, and Uncle Mike. Also Amara as well. That's about it."

"I think it's time you told the other important people in your life what's going on," Lucifer said.

"That's a horrible idea," Axel said quickly, "They'll look at me differently. I can't handle that. I already deal with it in heaven!"

Lucifer placed a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. Axel quickly realized his room was trashed in his panic.

"Axel, if you don't speak to them this is only going to escalate. Your biggest fear is that they won't accept you," Lucifer reasoned, "But you haven't even given them the chance to."

Axel took a deep breath, realizing Lucifer was correct.

"How quick can we plan a trip back to Earth with Jack," Axel asked.

Klaus quickly got dressed and rushed downstairs. Once he heard Axel was back, he wasted no time getting prepared to see him.

"Axel."

Axel looked up to meet Klaus's eyes. Then he dropped his gaze again, instantly telling him something was wrong.

"Now that you all are here. Axel has something he'd like to share," Lucifer said, turning to him, "Axel, whenever you're ready."

Axel hesitated as he slowly glanced at Klaus, Jack, and the other Mikaelsons present.

"I have this mental disorder called BPD. Which is short for Borderline Personality Disorder."
