WARNINGS: Supernatural Violence; Blood Consumption; Attempted Murder
Axel was studying a book on soul-bonds for Jack that night. He asked Clarke to send him whatever previous information he and Starla found before she passed. As he waits for the delivery, Axel has been studying the lore books he has on hand.
A noise caught his attention, making him listen closer. He stared at the door before it sounded again. Then he got up and went to investigate. Elijah was there, leaning against the wall with his head down. Axel assumed he was drunk again.
"Elijah... Have you been drinking again," Axel asked, making his way down the stairs.
"I need... Neeklaus," Elijah muttered.
"I'll get him for you... ELIJAH!"
Axel quickly launched forward as the original collapsed. He caught him just before he hit the ground. That's when he noticed the sweating, panting, and especially the blood on his shirt. Axel carried him to the couch and yanked open his shirt with a single tug. Bite wounds from a werewolf covered his torso.
"KLAUS," Axel shouted, waking the whole house.
Klaus rushed out of his room as the other Mikaelsons also heard the shouts.
"Axel, what are you... Elijah," Klaus said, vamping down the stairs.
He went to his brother's side, biting into his wrist.
"How long has he been like this," Klaus asked, motioning for Axel to lift him.
"I'm not sure. I barely heard him come in a minute ago," Axel said, lifting Elijah's head to accept his brother's blood.
Klaus shoved his open wound to Elijah's mouth, prying it open. The blood began to slip between his lips until Elijah latched onto him with his teeth. Sighs of relief came out from both of their mouths.
"Dad..."
Axel looked up at Hope, also coming down the stairs.
"Is he okay," Hope asked, stepping forward.
"He's fine, sweetheart," Axel reassured.
Hope sat down across from them, watching Klaus attempt to comfort Elijah.
"Do you know who did this," Hope asked.
"No," Axel said, standing up, "But I'm gonna find out."
"Let me go with you," Klaus offered.
"Klaus, usually I wouldn't mind. But I need you to stay here with Elijah," Axel said, "He needs you right now."
Klaus reluctantly agreed to staying put for Elijah's sake.
"Fine. I'll stay," Klaus said.
Axel looked over at Jack.
"I'll watch over them," Jack reassured.
Then he went to search for the werewolves responsible.
Axel walked into the den (basically it's a large home but they call it their den) of the wolves, making them rush out to find the intruder. He sat down on the sofa with a polite smile.
"Hello, I'm here looking for your alpha," Axel said, "I need to speak with him, her, them, or xe. Whatever pronouns they go by. Bring them forward so we can talk."
"You walked into the wrong place," A werewolf said.
"Are you the alpha," Axel asked, turning to the wolf.
"No..."
"Where is he," Axel asked.
"Not available," he said, "It'll be wise to leave our den before things get messy for you."
Axel sighed deeply and got up from the sofa. He went over to the armchair next to it.
"It's a shame. This was a really nice chair," Axel said.
He picked the chair up and smashed it across the wolf's face. The other werewolves ran at him while snarling. Axel fought them off until finally, they bit into him.
Assuming he was a vampire, they thought Axel would began to run away. Until they noticed their bite wounds healing. Another werewolf threw a knife at his chest. It hung in the air before dropping at his feet. Axel's eyes glowed a fiery red as he glared at the werewolf.
"What the hell..."
"Bring me the alpha or I will slaughter this whole pack with bare hands," Axel threatened.
"It's me... I'm the alpha."
Axel watched a man walk into the den. Axel realized he's been out this whole time.
"Axel Morningstar," he said, stopping in front of him.
"Hello, Jackson," Axel greeted, "Can we talk?"
"Sure. Let's take a walk," Jackson said, "It will give these assholes time to clean up this mess!"
They winced at the sharp correction and lowered their heads. Axel followed Jackson out of the den.
"I thought I'd never see you again," Jackson said, walking by his side, "Sorry about the others. They're still in training, so they had no idea who you were."
"I figured as much," Axel smirked.
"I guess that's why you went easy on them," Jackson teased, making Axel chuckle, "What brings you by though? Is something wrong?"
"I don't mean to be a nuisance, Jackson..."
"Remember, if you need anything I'm here," Jackson reasoned, "It's the least I can do after what you did for me. We have our own home because of you. Klaus and the other Mikaelsons have been more gentle with us since you've arrived."
"Elijah, came home tonight with werewolf bites all over his torso," Axel said, stopping near the street, "I think someone attacked him."
"It must've been a newbie," Jackson said, facing Axel, "But even they know not to go out alone at night unless I'm present. But I will go through the pack for you. Draw out the werewolves responsible."
"Thank you, Jackson," Axel smiled, "You helping means a lot to me."
"You mean a lot to this city, Axel. She's thriving like never before because of you."
"Well, I was just the help," Axel shrugged.
"Still, your help was necessary," Jackson said.
"Hey, Jackson, one more thing," Axel said, "It would be good to keep this private. Years of peace have gone by between the three supernatural factions. I don't want your guys to get hurt because some hotheads decide to retaliate."
"I understand, Axel," Jackson said, "Have a good night."
"You too," Axel said, walking back to the compound.
As he stood on the bottom floor, he received a text.
"Four werewolves have skipped town while we were talking," Jackson texted, "They're the ones you're looking for. I'll send you their names now."
"Thnx."
Axel made a quick phone call.
"Hey, it's me. I have a job for you if you're up for it."
