Landon was walking out of class when he heard his name. He turned around to see Jack heading his way. Landon braced himself for the worst.
Although he was rather strong, he knew Jack was much stronger. He didn't stand a chance against him. It didn't help that he could sense his angelic grace when around him.
"Hey, Jack," Landon smiled.
"Landon, I heard you were taking Hope to the dance," Jack said, "Is that correct?"
"Yes, I was," Landon said, "Why? Were you planning to already? I can tell her something came up..."
"No, you're good. However, since Hope is practically my niece..."
Jack shoved Landon against the wall, using his arms to trap him.
"If you do anything to hurt her, I will hunt you down," Jack said, his voice threatening, "Understand?"
Landon nodded while swallowing thickly. Was the hell was it so hot all of a sudden? Also was it just him or did his pants get tighter?
"It's a yes or no question, Landon," Jack said, his eyes glowing a deep orange color.
This was more than likely supposed to be threatening but for some reason, it wasn't as threatening as Landon thought. Still, he prayed that Jack did not look down.
"Yeah, I understand," Landon said, cowering a bit.
Jack smiled at him and stepped back.
"Great. See you later," Jack said, walking away from him.
Landon went to the bathroom and locked the door. He rinsed his face with cold water. Then he lifted his shirt, noticing the dark symbols developing along his skin. He could never tell what the lines meant. A part of him assumed they had to do with another person here.
Landon dropped his shirt and left the bathroom. His phone sent a notification informing him of his appointment with Axel.
"Crap, I'm late," Landon said, rushing past the other students.
He managed to get there on time and panted as he opened the door.
"Hey, Mr. Axel," Landon greeted.
"You can call me, Axel you know. You don't have to put Mister in front of it every time we talk," Axel smiled, "Have a seat."
Landon sat down in the chair as Axel sat across from him.
"Anything new with the symbols," Axel asked.
"There's more of them," Landon said, "I barely noticed them now."
