Chapter 7

Ryland

Wednesday 8:00am

I can't believe I did that. I truly can't. And the way Sammy keeps eyeing me he can't believe I did it either. Although he does look happier today even though as soon as we got to school he disappeared on me. He better not tell anyone that cretin.

I was still pissed at myself and in shock when the school bell rang and the first period ensued. I was sitting in the back of math when Jay and Darius came in late with a note. Both of them looked like they'd been up all night. My bet was they were drinking and making out. They thought they were sly, but I knew. I knew most things.

Although, I couldn't figure out Sammy and the whole girl's situation because he woke up talking about maybe having a date with someone on Friday. The fuck? I wondered if he was suffering through some gay panic. And after what happened I was a little jealous of the girl. If she existed anyway.

"You don't talk much. Do you?" A girl with blonde hair and an upturned nose asked me, sitting down in the empty desk beside me.

"I don't need to. Why? What's it to you?"

"Well, I just find it funny that in all your years here, you and your friends have never taken an interest in anyone. It's always you and the three amigos. So, why are you talking with my friend?" She was chewing on gum, making a bubble, I rudely stuck a finger in it glaring at her.

"The fuck? Who's your friend? And who are you? You don't look familiar. No actually, you look like every other girl in this place to be fair."

"Oh, bullshit. You know who I am."

"Nah, blondie. I really don't. I also don't care who you are. In case you were wondering."

She laughed. "I'm Tessa Manzoni. Head cheerleader."

I laughed. "Oh. Right, right. The hateful bitch that posted an awful social media giff about her own best friend. That's right. I know the name, not the face, Manzoni."

She scoffed. "I didn't do that. John Wells did. Ask him."

"I don't know who that is either. But I know it wasn't him. I tracked your address, sweets."

"Anyways, why are you fucking with Tomlin?" She asked, really not understanding that this had nothing to do with her.

"Oh, didn't you hear? I plan to corrupt him and make him mine. Isn't that all I'm good for? Bossing people around. I think he'd like it." I winked at her.

She turned red and grabbed her shit and left. Jay and Darius who were sitting in front of me and heard the whole thing laughed, but they both looked worried. "Ryland, you shouldn't have said that shit to that girl." Jay whispered.

"Yeah, I know. Who cares though. No one else cares about the rules. Why should I?"

They both frowned at me. I shook my head planning on leaving when Tomlin sat down in the seat Tessa was just in. His eyes were heated and for some reason I thought he looked prettier than the day before. Maybe it was because he looked like he'd been crying. I am a sadist at heart after all.

That made me feel bad and have bad memories at one time.

Did Sammy think I was too mean to him? Was that why he was hiding? Fuck. Tomlin Lemons did weird things to me, like make me think I am a jerk. Although, no not from the look he was giving me. It was saying I am a hunk. He winked at me before leaning into my desk to whisper.
