SOPHIE'S P.O.V
When in the taxi, I felt the hopeless sobs escape me finally. The lady, driving the taxi, was giving me a polite smile in the rearview mirror, but I just felt like absolute crap. I never swear, I'm honestly not the kind to keep spitting out foul language.
But today I felt like screaming a thousand of them.
"Where to, miss?" She asked, a slightly concerned expression on her face. I sniffed slightly, biting my lip. Where could I go?
I told her the address, to Liam's house. I grabbed my cell, flicking through the contacts till I clicked Liam's. His phone rang once before he picked up, his voice sounded worried.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked. I just felt like crying again.
"N-No, can I come over?" I choked out, and saw we were nearing his street, people passed each other through the streets of Cheshire with bored, or content faces. I'd rather be bored, or happy now then be what I am.
"Of course." He answered without hesitation, and I nodded even though he couldn't see.
"I'm almost t-there, bye." I mumbled, putting my phone back into my pocket and breathing slowly. My hands instantly snaked their way around my belly, resting around my bump. Almost as if there was some kind of spell, I felt better, more at ease. Just knowing that, every day counted when this child was going to be born was enough to make me feel better. Only if it were on cue, I felt the small bumps happening. The baby was moving, the being I had created was made by me.
And someone then probably had no idea that they were going to be a father.
"i'm so sorry." I whispered, to no one but the bump itself. I felt so, so bad that I could never give it the life that I had wanted to. Before Harry, I had always pictured that i would be alone. Even if it was only a few days, those thoughts that ran in my mind were what I had expected. Then again, life is so unexpected.
The taxi came to a stop, and I looked out the window again to see what happened to be Liam's house. He had brought me over once, when Harry was still away to grab a few things. That reminded me I haven't talked to Cora, or Lauren, in a while. I had talked to Lucy yesterday on the phone to tell her I couldn't make it to work. She was so excited for me, jumping up and down and such.
"It's free, hun. You've had a stressful day. Good luck with the baby." She gave me a genuine smile, and I was thankful for her to do that. I forced a smile to her, thanking her as I got out. I breathed in, then out, then in again. Liam was always kind, the best kind of person around.
I saw his figure in the door way, searching his view until he saw me and gave me a small smile. The tears came rushing back, and I wish I could stop them. But no one believed me, that girl wanted to wreck my life, didn't she?
"Hey, hey. Don't cry, please. No one as amazing you deserves to cry." He rushed over, instantly wrapping his arms around me as I cried. I sobbed into his chest, and he rested his head on my shoulders.
"Soph, don't cry. Let's go inside, and you can tell me what happened, okay?" He cooed, giving me a reassuring smile. I nodded, finally stifling the sobs. He led us into the house, his smile never disappearing.
I had never been in his house, and was surprised to see that it was quite neat actually. With tinted blue walls and simple black sofas, it reminded me a bit of my old home. Home, where was my home now?
"Do you want some tea?" He asked, his smile still there. I didn't feel like doing anything, just sitting. I shook my head, but I guess he knew me a little too well as he got up, making his way to the kitchen and pouring the clear liquid into the kettle.
