Rusty's Secret

14. Crush

Rusty steps onto the bus. He walks to the back of the bus, where he usually sits."Hi Rusty!" Jack shouts happily. He schooches over so Rusty can sit down. Rusty's face turns a bright red. He still hasn't gotten over yesterday. "H-Hey Jack" He says as he sits down. Rusty stays silent the whole ride.

Mackenzie is sitting next to Bluey, he notices Rusty. "Is Rusty okay?" He whispers in her ear. "I don't know....He looks really flustered" Bluey whispers back. "Do you think he has a crush?" Mackenzie questions. "I don't know. There's no one I can think of since him and Indy broke up" Bluey answered.

The bus stops, and they all get off. "What class do you have?" Jack asks Rusty. "Uh...I-I have social studies with y-you.." Rusty responds nervously. "Are you okay, Rusty?" Jack asks with a concerned expression on his face. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine....let's just head to class" Rusty lies. Jack knows that he's not fine. Something is clearly wrong. Jack was dying to know Rusty's secret....

The two walk into class. In the middle of the lesson, Jack turns to Rusty, he's spacing out. "Rusty, are you sure you're fine?" Jack asks again. Rusty starts to blushing "uh...I-I'm fine...." He stutters. "Rusty, you can tell me anything" Jack says comfortingly. "I'm okay..." Rusty says quietly.

BEEEEP

Everyone in the class jumps out of their seats and prepaes for lunch. The group decides to eat outside again. "What class do you have after this?" Pretzel asks while eating his sandwich. "I have science" Indy responds with a smile. Everyone loved science. Rusty was sitting behind a tree, tossing stones down the hill. "Do you guys know why Rusty's acting sad? Jack asks everyone. "I'm not sure. He's been acting strange all day..." Judo points out.

"Me and Mackenzie think he has a crush" Bluey smiles. Jack seems concerned. "So who do we think it is?" Judo asks everyone. "Oh...He has a crush...I guess that could be it..." Indy sighs. Jack gets up and walks over to Rusty. "H-Hi Rusty...are you ok...." Jack sits down next to him. "N-No....I'm not...." Rusty responds. "Do you wanna tell me what's wrong...." Jack asks. "N-No....not now....." He replies quietly. Jack wraps his arm around Rusty. Rusty starts to blush.

Mackenzie looks over at Jack and Rusty. "Uh...Guys....what if it's not a girl..." Mackenzie says to everyone. "What do you mean?" Bluey asks him. Mackenzie points over at Jack and Rusty. "What if he likes Jack. Anytime he's around Jack, he acts all flustered" Mackenzie explains. "I-I guess that could be true....But....Rusty's not gay...Is he?" Indy mumbles. Jack and Rusty walk back over to them. "Are you okay, Rusty?" Mackenzie asks him. "Yeah...I-I'm ok...." Rusty says quietly. Jack puts his hand over Rusty's. Rusty's face turns a bright red.

the bell rings, and the group packs up their food and heads to class. "Rusty, we have math together" Jack says happily. "Ok..." The two walk through the hallway, still holding hand. They sit down in class and get ready for the rest of the day. Rusty felt more comfortable with Jack now. Maybe he does actually have a crush on him.
