27. Confession

Rusty and Jack get off the bus together. They arrive at Jack's house. "A-At least y-your Mum was happy..." Jack says nervously. "I'm sure your parents will be too" Rusty tires to comfort Jack. Rusty holds Jack's hand. Jack smiles at him, they take a deep breath, and knock on the door.

"Hi Jack! Hello Rusty!" Lulu says as she opens the door. "H-Hi Lulu!" Jack exclaims as they walk inside the house. "Hey Jack! G'day Rusty!" Jack's Dad says as they enter the door. "H-Hi Dad" Jack says nervously. "When should we tell them?" Rusty whispers in Jack's ear. "N-Not yet...I-I'm not ready..." Jack whispers back. They both walk into Jack's room to figure things out.

"Jack, it's ok!" Rusty shouts. "B-B-But, how are they gonna react. What if they're mad! What if they hate me forever!" Jack panics. "They're not gonna hate you! Everything will be fine! They already know you're gay, so it won't be much of a surprise to them!" Rusty shouts. Rusty places his hand over Jack's. Jack is breathing very heavily. "Just calm down..." Rusty said calmly.

Jack looks over at his bedroom door. It was open, Lulu was standing in the doorway, she's been there the entire time. She stares at them with wide eyes. "Lulu! Don't you dare tell anyone you heard this! Or I will kill you!" Jack yells angirly. "Give me a hundred dollarydoos then" Lulu says teasingly. "What! Where the hell am I gonna get that much money!" Jack shouts. Lulu starts to giggle as she runs out of the room. "LULU!" Jack screams as he hops off of his bed to chase after her.

"MUUUM, JACK AND RUSTY ARE-" Jack covers Lulu's mouth. "Jack and Rusty are what?" Her mum asks. "N-Nothing! She was just joking around...heh..." Jack said nervously. Rusty looks over at Jack. "Jack....we should tell them...." Rusty whispers. Jack inhales, then exhales loudly.

"Ok....I'll tell you the truth....M-Me and Rusty are....we're....uhm....w-we're...." Rusty can tell Jack was nervous, so he grabs onto Jack's hand. "You know Rusty, my friend, right...?" He asked them. Both of his parents nod with a confused look on their faces. "Well, we're not friends anymore..." Jack explained. "What?" They both said at the same time. "Mum, Dad...Rusty's my boyfriend now...." Jack manages to say.

His parents' eyes grow wide. "W-What?" Jack's Dad says quietly. Jack looks down at the floor. "Pl-Please don't hate me now..." Jack whispers. "Hate you? Why would we ever hate you?" His mum says softly. She gives Jack a hug. "We'll love you no matter what...You're my son...I can never hate you" Jack's Mum says calmly. Jack can't help but smile. "Why was that so hard to say? If we accepted you once, why wouldn't we accept you again?" She said peacefully. Jack smile gets bigger. Jack's dad looked Rusty directly in the eyes. "You're not gonna break my son's heart, are you?" He asked sternly. "N-No, I promise" Rusty said nervously. "Good" He placed his hand on Rusty's shoulder.

They let go of the hug. "Ok....let's get ready for dinner" Jack's Dad announces, patting his son on the head.
