Rusty's Secret

35. Revenge

Coco hesitates before walking into the school. She takes a deep breath before walking through the big metal doors. She finds Stephanie in the middle of the hallway. She stares at Stephanie for a couple of seconds.

"We doing this or what?" Stephanie asked, breaking the silence. "O-Oh...Yeah....I guess so...." Coco stuttered. Stephanie walked closer to her. "You better not bail out on this, or there will be a consequence" Stephanie whispered in her ear viciously. Coco swallowed hard as she frantically nodded her head. "Good" Stephanie said bitterly, patting Coco's shoulder.

Coco watched as Stephanie blended into the crowd of students. "What am I getting myself into..." She thought to herself.

As Coco walked into math class, she glared at Rusty. Rusty looked at her for a second and shoved the middle finger in her face from his seat. She started to sweat as she sat down.

At lunch, everyone sits by the same lychee-filled tree they always sat by. "Has anyone noticed how weird Coco's been acting lately?" Rusty asked as he sat down. "No? What do you mean?" Bluey questioned while she unzipped her multicolored lunchbox.

"Yesterday, she came up to me and Jack and asked how close we were" Rusty explained. Jack started to blush when we  rethought of that moment. "And she gave me a nasty look this morning it's just really strange....I've never done anything wrong to her...." Rusty sighed as he twirled a grass blade around his finger. When he let go of the blade, it looked like a spiral. "That's weird" Mackenzie pointed out.

Coco watched them from a distance. She took a few deep breaths as she walked over to them.

Jack watched as Coco creeped over to Rusty and taps him on the shoulder. Rusty quickly turned around. "Oh, Uh...Hi Coco...." Rusty said nervously. He scooted closer to Jack. "C-Can...I...Can I speak to you in private?" She requested, looking down at him. Rusty put his hand over Jack's. "Uh...S-Sure..." He gave Jack a look when he said that. That look told him: "Keep an eye on her" Rusty removed his hand from Jack's and slowly followed Coco to a different tree.

Rusty parked himself in front of the tree and waited for Coco to say something. "So....Uh....I wanted to tell you something" Coco said silently, staring down at the ground. "What is it?" Rusty responded as he crossed his arms. "Uh...I...." Coco couldn't come up with any words.

Stephanie emerged from the other side of the tree. "You fuck up! You're no good at anything! You're a worthless piece of shit!" She screamed at Coco as she stormed towards her. Rusty just stood there and watched. He wanted to say something, but all that came out was a stutter. "Don't you fucking say a word, faggot" She pointed her knife at him. Rusty backed off a little bit. He tried to run, but Stephanie appeared behind him. She wrapped her arms around him and placed her butter knife right by his neck.

Coco stood there, her mouth open, her eyes wide. "Stephanie, what are you doing! We never agreed on this!" She took a few stomps closer to her. "This is what you wanted, Coco. You wanted revenge on Rusty for stealing Jack from you. So here it is..." She said loudly. "But I never wanted to-"

"Shut up!" Stephanie pointed the knife towards her. Coco stepped back. "Don't you dare ask for help or you're next!" Stephanie barked angirly. Rusty tried to scream, but Stephanie covered his mouth with her hand. "Don't make me do it..." She whispered in his ear.

Stephanie stared at Coco. "Why do you look so surprised? Did you think I'd actually help you? What gave you the idea to trust me?" Stephanie laughed. Coco didn't know what to say. Rusty bit the inside of Stephanie's hand as hard as he could. "FUCK!" Stephanie screamed in pain. She let go of Rusty. Rusty tasted the metallic flavor of her blood. He hated it. Stephanie kept her knife in her hand as she stared down at her bleeding hand. Rusty ripped off a patch of skin on her palm.

Rusty stood there. Looking down at her. Stephanie started to smile. Rusty stepped back. Stephanie started laughing as her hand dripped with blood. She looked up at the sky and laughed pshycotically. She couldn't. Tears were streaming down her face. Her blood painted the grass a dark red. She looked over at Rusty with a wide grin. Her hands shook violently. She stood up and stared Rusty in the eyes, her pupils wide and dilating. "So that's how it's gonna be?" Her smile quickly faded as she deepened her voice and stood up. "Okay. So be it" She said maliciously.

Jack sat there. Looking around. Tapping his leg. "Rusty's been gone a while..." He thought out loud. "Yeah. I wonder what Coco wants to tell him" Bluey said to him. "I want to check on him" Jack announced as he began to stand up. "He's fine, Jack" Mackenzie signaled him to sit back down. Everyone's ears parked up as they heard a distant scream. "That sounded like Coco..." Indy noticed. "Yup, I'm checking on him!" Jack said quickly as he ran over to where he heard the scream.

Jack arrives at the scene. He watches as Rusty gets tackled by Stephanie. Coco looks over at Jack. "Jack, I'm so sorry! I don't know what to do! Shit, is this all my fault!" Coco said frantically. Jack tried to pull Stephanie off of Rusty. Coco ran over and helped him. Stephanie bit Jack's arm. Jack let go and rubbed his wrist. Coco fell over as Jack stepped back. Stephanie searched for the knife she dropped on the ground. This gave Rusty some time. He kicked upwards, hitting Stephanie in the gut as she fell onto the bloodstained grass. Rusty quickly stood up. Stephanie still had the same evil grin as she turned her head around to look for the weapon.

Coco saw a glint in the sunlight on the ground. She walked closer to it and saw the knife sitting in the grass. She picked it up as she looked over at Stephanie. Rusty ran over to Jack as he jumped into his arms. "Rusty, I'm so glad you're okay" Jack kissed him on the cheek.

The rest of their friends run over to them. They look around at what's happened. Rusty and Jack walk over to them. Stephanie stared at Coco holding her knife. "Give that back" She said slowly. Coco shook her head as she stepped back. "Give it back you slut...." Stephanie walked closer to her. Stephanie looked her dead in the eyes and growled. Stephanie tried to grab her but Coco quickly cut her wrist. "Shit!" Stephanie shouted as she gripped her arm. Coco ran away.

"I'm calling the police!" Bluey warned as she held up her phone. She dialed 000. "You're going to juvie, bitch!" Bluey yelled, holding her phone up to her ear. Stephanie ran up to her and tried to grab her phone. Jack punched her back to the ground. Jack stood over her body. "This is my revenge asshole!" Jack kicked her in the stomach.

Mackenzie ran over with principal as he explained the situation. "Stephanie Inu you're coming with me!" Ms. Terrier screamed as she yanked Stephanie off the ground. "You're expelled!" She shouted as she pulled Stephanie away. "Good luck in prison!" Judo shouted as they all watched Stephanie being pulled into the school kicking and screaming. They all smiled in unison. Jack looks at Stephanie's knife still on the ground. Coco dropped it as she ran away. "Why did Coco do it..." Jack said as he picked it up. "I don't know...But....Stephanies gone. We won't see her ever again" Mackenzie said proudly as he walked over to Jack. "Yeah..." Jack said, staring at his reflection in the metal butter knife. "I'll get the nurse for Rusty" Indy said as she walked away.
