Indy sat up in her darkened room. Her fur was drenched in tears from last night. She deleted every single picture she had with Rusty and blocked Jack as she cried herself to sleep. As she woke up, she flipped through her old diary. She wrote notes about Rusty, drew pictures of him. She ripped each page out and crumpled them up as tears fell onto the pages.
She petted her cat as he rested on her bed next to her. She opened up her curtains as the pouring rain hit the window. Her head looked over at her bedroom door as she heard a knock at it. Her mum walked into the room. She looked around for a bit. "What happened here!" She shouted. She noticed Indy's teary eyes. "Aw, sweetheart, what's wrong?" She said as she sat down on Indy's bed. Indy sat next to her. Indy wiped her tears. "What's the matter, Indy?" She asked comfortingly. "I don't want to talk about it..." Indy sniffled. "Alright, well, just get ready for school soon, Dad's making breakfast for you and your sister" her mum said calmly as she left the room.
Indy slowly walked towards her bus. She walked down the aisle. She saw Jack sitting in his seat. "Hi Indy!" He said with a smile. Indy shot a dirty look at him as she walked by. Jack's smile turned upside down. Indy stromed over to her seat, she angirly sat down next to Judo. "Hey, what's wro-"
"Shut up"
"O-Okay..." Judo said with her head down. Indy stared out the winodw as the bus stopped in front of Rusty's house. She stared Rusty down as he walked onto the bus. She watched him walk down the aisle. "Hey Jack!" He said excitedly as he sat next to him. "Hey, Rus!" Jack said as he gave Rusty a hug.
Indy curled her hand into a fist as she watched Jack hug Rusty. "Indy, can you tell me what's going on!" Judo shouted. "No!" Indy yelled.
"What's the matter with Indy?" Rusty whispered in Jack's ear. "I don't know..." Jack shrugged. "Uh, hey Indy! What's wrong?" Rusty asked from his seat. "Fuck off!" She screamed as she flipped Rusty off. Rusty scooched closer to Jack as the bus started move again.
Rusty walked with Jack down the hallway. "Get out of my way!" Indy yelled as she pushed Jack to the floor. Jack fell down onto the ground. Rusty grabbed his hand and lifted him up. "You okay?" Rusty asked. "Yeah, I'm fine" Jack smiled. "You stay here" Rusty told Jack as walked over to Indy at her locker. "Indy, what is wrong with you!" Rusty shouted. Indy slammed her locker door as hard as she could. "You know exactly what's wrong!" She screamed at him. "No, I don't!" Rusty argued. Indy pointed over at Jack across the hall. "What? I don't know understand why you're so angry!" Rusty shouted. "You know exactly why I'm so angry!" Indy yelled as she crossed her arms.
Rusty stared at her for a couple of seconds. "Indy, are you...jealous that I'm dating Jack now?" Rusty questioned. Indy didn't respond, but Rusty took it as a yes.
"Indy, I know that the breakup was so sudden, and I'm sorry for that, but it's not my decision to choose who my heart wants! That was a year and a half ago. Why can't you just move on!" Rusty tried to explain. "Shut up! You left me because you fell in love with some stupid boy!" Indy screamed as her eyes began to water. "But it's not my fault! I didn't want to pretend to still love you for as long we were together! I wasn't trying to break your heart!" Rusty screamed back. "But you did!" Indy yelled angirly as a couple of tears fell out of her eyes. "Hey, Rusty, c-can we just go to lunch?" Jack asked him as he walked over to them. "Yeah, let's go" Rusty gave Indy a dirty look as they walked away.
Everyone ate at their usual lunch table, all except Indy. She sat on an empty table, barely picking at her food. "What's wrong with Indy?" Pretzel asked everyone at the table. Rusty was too angry to answer. "Don't worry about it" Jack said with an anxious smile. "I think I should talk to her" Rusty announced. "No, I'll go talk to her, you stay here" Bluey said as she stood up from her seat.
She walked over to Indy's table and sat down next to her. "You okay?" Bluey asked as she moved closer to Indy. "What does it look like?" Indy sniffled. "Listen, I know you're still coping with the breakup and all, but you don't have to get at Rusty like that. Nothing was his fault. I know he still likes you. He really likes you, Indy. But that doesn't mean he can't love anyone else. You'll just have to accept his decision and move on. Can you do that? For me?" Bluey explained softly. Indy lifted her head up. "I'll try" She said as a light smile grew on her face.
They both walked back to the table together. They both sat down next to each other. "I'm sorry, Rusty..." Indy apologized. "It's alright...I'm sorry for yelling at you..." Rusty said with a smile.
