Sanji's throat felt sore, and it stung a bit whenever he moved his head.

"Up, down, left- does it feel okay?" Chopper asked. Sanji had recently woken up from the surgery, it took a while but he was up eventually. Chopper was just checking if Sanji's neck felt painful or not by asking to move his head around.

Sanji nodded at Choppers question.

"Good, you'll need to stay here for another couple days until it's healed a bit more. Also, Zoro is allowed to come and see you tomorrow, he's not allowed any sooner. If you catch him trying to sneak in, just call me, okay?" Sanji nodded.

"Robin will be here in a couple hours, she read a couple books on voice healing and learnt quite a few things about speeding up the mending process. How do you feel about that?" Chopper asked. Sanji held out his thumb and smiled slightly.

"Good! I'll also give you a transponder snail just in case you start to feel unwell, just ring it and I'll know that you need me." Chopper put the transponder snail on the bedside table and hopped away, happy with the surgery results. Chopper shut the door and left Sanji with absolutely nothing to do.

Sanji looked at the ceiling for a bit, then he tried to go back to sleep, which didn't work. He wished Zoro was there to keep him company.

"Hello Sanji,"

Zoro?

"I came a bit earlier to see you, I hope the doctor is okay with it."

Oh, it's Robin. I guess her voice is kind of deep.

Sanji lifted his hand a waved slowly.

"Fufu, you're adorable Sanji. I hope that Chopper has already told you why I'm here." She said, pulling up a chair from the side of the room. She placed it in front of Sanji's bed and sat, a purple book set neatly in her lap. Sanji straightened up and turned his body to face her, his legs hanging off the end of his bed.

"I learnt a few vocal exercises that will benefit your healing process, it will take some time for you to piece words and sentences together, but you should be able to start making small sounds in good time." She said, flicking through pages of her book.

"Ah, here. This is a exercise that will train your vocal chords, would you like to try?" Robin asked. Sanji nodded eagerly.

"Okay, all I need you to do is open your mouth and try and push the sound out in the form of the letter 'A'." Sanji nodded and opened his mouth, he tried pushing sound out but nothing happened.

"Keep going, it will happen eventually. Maybe try opening your shoulders a bit?" Sanji changed his posture into a more elegant one and continued to push the sound.

".....a..a.."

Sanji was shocked by his own voice. He almost couldn't remember what it had sounded like. It was higher, but still like his normal voice. Robin clapped her hands together.

"Well done Sanji! Very good job," Robin said, patting him lightly on the knee.

"I bet it's quite shocking to hear your own voice after so many months," she said, Sanji nodded.

Robin continued to help Sanji with improving his voice, but something else was on Sanji's mind. He wished Zoro was in the room, sitting by his side, holding his hand softly. Zoro was Sanji's comfort, he always had been, but he never said anything. Maybe there was something more than friendship between them?

"Sanji?"

Sanji snapped back and focused on Robin once more.

"You're thinking of someone, aren't you?" She said, a smile creeping over her face. Sanji shook his head.

"Don't worry Sanji, I know who it is."
