44. End

It wasn't long until the police got on Dabi's tail. He had to get going soon, and fast. Luckily, he already had a plan in place. He had that video prepared for a long while now, and it's time for him and what's left of the league to engage in their final plan.

"(Y/n), baby...it's time to wake up." He shook you slightly. You didn't respond. Shit..maybe he overdid it with the sleeping meds. He shook you a little harder, tapping your cheek. "(Y/n), (y/n), get up."

After a moment, you groaned, your eyes fluttering. He let out a small sigh of relief. "W-what's happening?"

"We're leaving, sweetheart. We're going somewhere special, where no one can hurt us. Don't worry, you'll love it."

The sleeping medicine he had you on would probably last a couple of hours, and he could tell you were still extremely disoriented. Still, he'd probably have to keep you drugged up for the car ride later. It was sad that things had to get like this, that he had to drug you like some sort of pet that'll run away any chance it got, but he had no other choice.

If only you trusted him. If only you loved him again. But he's not too upset. He knows that soon, he'll get you to fall for him again. It's only a matter of time before you give in to him. Especially now, since you had no one else.

He managed to get you to walk to the car with him, wrapping you with a blanket for you to be comfortable with to sleep. After buckling you in, he made sure he had everything he needed packed and drove off into the night.

Slipping her jacket on, Miruko got into her car. This was her seventh attempt to find more clues about Touya. She had been searching and searching, but how could you find someone who spent a good amount of his life untraceable?

She searched whatever she could, IP addresses, stores he could've been in, stores you could've been in. Everything. Some days, it felt there was no point, but she knew she was getting close..or at least she hoped so.

She couldn't sleep much most nights, so she spent those looking for you. Including tonight. She played some soft music on the radio, driving through the rougher parts of town.

She turned the corner finding something different. A small abandoned bar. Maybe she was grasping at straws, but she felt something. It was near the dumpster where Shigaraki's remains were found, after all.

Hopping out of the car, she walked over to the bar. To her surprise, the door was unlocked. The place was empty, and seemed like it hadn't been lived in, dust caking countertops, tables, and chairs.

She clicked on a flashlight on her keychain, searching everywhere, every nook and cranny, not finding everything. Just when she started to doubt her instincts, just when she thought it was a fluke, she noticed something.

The cellar door...with no dust or anything on it. It was also unlocked, and she walked down to the basement. There was an indent in a pipe, and she found something else..torn rope. She also spotted a couch, recognizing immediately it as the exact couch that Touya filmed a video on.

He was here, and so were you. Finally, after all the tireless nights spent searching for something, anything, she had a breakthrough.

When you woke up, it was bright outside, and you were in the passenger's seat of Dabi's car..How did you get here? You could hardly remember. It was all a little foggy, probably from all the drugs he had you on.

"Morning, doll. How are you feeling?" You rubbed your eyes, wiping the sleep away. You tried to orient yourself, glancing around the car. Outside was the city, but parts of it you had never seen before.

"'M fine. Where are we going?" You couldn't help but ask. "Somewhere of special. I figured we could use a change of scenery. You'll like it. And you'll get to meet more of my friends too. My real friends. Like you've always wanted."

That doesn't sound good. You're getting farther and farther away from places you're familiar with. Farther and farther away from home..or what used to be your home. You'll hardly be able to escape there.

"I have to use the bathroom. My stomach hurts." You lie. He believes you. "Don't worry, we're stopping at a gas station soon. I have some medicine that should help you for the rest of the drive."

About ten minutes later, he stopped at the gas station as promised. You got out, pretending to struggle with walking, letting him take your hand and lead you inside the gas station. You could feel the drugs wearing off, and your adrenaline kicking in.

He makes sure to be quick, grabbing some snacks for the road, and leading you over to the bathroom. He puts the pills in your hand, handing you a bottle of water to down the pills with.

Of course, he was going to watch you take them..he wasn't stupid, and he always had watched you before, but a part of you hoped he would give you some privacy. You put them in your mouth and faked swallowing, and he checked briefly before stepping away.

The moment you stepped into the stall, you spat them all out. You needed to come up with a plan. You couldn't just run now. Dabi was right outside the door and there was hardly anyone around. You needed to be somewhere well-populated. Somewhere people could see what was happening. So, you had no other choice but to wait.

It wasn't long until you got your chance. Maybe an hour or two? You stopped at a stop light in a well-populated area...and you couldn't take it. You unbuckled your seat, jumped out of the car, and slammed the door shut before sprinting off.

You could hear Dabi calling after you, shouting, chasing after you, but you kept going. You ran and ran, until your legs hurt, until you couldn't run anymore. You weren't just running for yourself, but for all your losses too...for all the people he had killed..and for your future.

You smacked into someone. Thinking it was Dabi, you went to push them away and run..but it wasn't.

"(Y/n)?"

Your eyes widened, and you were shocked by who you saw. "Miruko?"

"Oh thank god. I've been worried sick. I can't believe I found you. Don't worry. I know what happened. I know everything. I'm going to get you out of here. You're safe now. No one's going to hurt you anymore."
