You awake to the sound of the door unlocking, and some footsteps creaking downstairs. You're minds still bleary with sleep, still drained from all the traumatic events you just went through. Dabi places a hand on your shoulder, shaking you softly.

"Morning." He greets. Instead of leaning into his touch like you used to, you flinch away from it, making him frown. "How are you feeling? How's your ankle? I brought you breakfast and some more pain meds."

"It's fine. I'm fine, thank you." There's no point in fighting him right now. You're ankle's so fucked up, and it's not like you'd stand a chance anyways. So for now, you have to endure this.

"You don't have to lie. I know it's not fine. I know you're not fine. I know I hurt you and I know you're scared. I'm so sorry, (y/n). I never meant for things to turn out this way. But there are reasons, and if you're ready, I'll tell you everything. The complete truth."

Sitting up and rubbing your eyes, you looked at him expectantly. He's lied about basically everything and  you doubt that you can trust him. But, you have nothing better to do, so you might as well listen.

He places the tray of food in your lap gently, letting you dig in to your breakfast. Then, he clears his throat.

"Our first meeting wasn't at the party, and Dabi's not my real name. Fuck, you probably don't even remember. It was a long time ago, anyways." He muttered, laughing to himself.

"Do you remember that boy you played with? That one you met under the bridge outside of Sakura park? You played all day with him, until the sun got low, and you two sat in front of seven eleven and binged candy and snacks and drank slushees. You got cherry, and he got blue raspberry."

It sounded so familiar, and you thought back to it, staring at your lover intensely, before you recognize him. Those same, striking, turquoise eyes, and his face....

You can't remember his name, but then, you think back to when you were standing at that shrine with Natsuo. This is crazy.

"T-Toya? Toya...Todoroki?" You finally manage to say, your voice barely above a whisper.

"That's me." He flashes you a small smile. He hates his name, but for some reason, hearing it roll off your tongue feels likee Heaven on Earth. "But I just go by Toya now. I'm nothing like those corrupt fuckers."

"Natsuo isn't- Natsuo wasn't corrupt." You defended him, your voice breaking in pain. "He was your own brother, he cared about you. He loved you, and you killed him."

"I did it because I love you! You don't understand what it was like, living in that house. To be thrown away and discarded like trash! Once my father decided I was useless, he completely neglected me. No matter how hard I tried, no matter how hard I worked or what I did, he wouldn't care. My mother wasn't any better. She was sick, and she couldn't help. Natsuo and Fuyumi tried, but they didn't understand. They didn't face the constant rejection that I did, and it broke me. So I burned that whole house down and faked my suicide. I wasn't Toya, I couldn't be for a long time. But then, I found my place in this world...You see, there are some awful, corrupt people in this world. Me, Spinner, Shigaraki, Twice and the others deal with it. We stop bad people like that. And you, you were the only person who was kind to me, who actually cared about and respected me. I fell in love with you the moment I saw you, and after I got everything figured out, I tracked you down to UA and I went to that shitty party just to meet you. All the people I've killed, everything I've done, it was all for you. I love you, (y/n). More than anything. I'd do anything for you, and I'd do whatever it takes to keep you by my side."

You stare at him, not angrily, not hatefully, but not lovingly either. You just seem sad, a look of pity on your face. "I feel bad for you, Toya. I really do."

You don't say another word, looking away from him, and placing your tray down of your food that's now finished.

"I don't know how else to make you understand." Dabi mutters, frustrated. He explained it all to you, told you about the hell he went through, about what he did for you, and you still don't get it.

"I understand just fine, Toya. What you went through was horrible. You didn't deserve that, and I'm sorry. It might be the reason for your actions, but it doesn't excuse them. I never asked you to kill anyone for me. I never wanted that."

He grows even more angry, and he got to his feet so fast that you flinched, fearing that he would hurt you. He didn't, he just walked away instead.

He walks up the stairs, calling someone's name, before leaving. Spinner came walking downstairs instead, some rope in hand. He has a sad look in his eyes, unable to meet your gaze.

"Give me your hands, please." He mutters. At least he was nice about it. You don't hesitate, raising your hands, letting him tie your wrists together.

Still, you're unable to help the betrayal you feel. Did he know all of this was happening and didn't tell you? Did he even care about you? You thought he was your friend.

"So they got you too, huh?" That finally makes him look up at you, locking eyes with you. "I agree with Stain's ideologies and I work with Dabi. That's all we have in common. I don't agree with a lot of his methods, and I wasn't aware of what he was doing to you. If I knew what was happening, then we'd be in a much different situation. But we're not, so I'm sorry. I'll do whatever I can to get you out of here. I promise."

That provides you some comfort, and you give him a small smile. "Thank you."
