A few weeks later, Radier's POV
It has been nearly two years since Dad and Uncle Horror were taken away. Solros would definitely be at least a month or two old by now, yet there's no clue indicating that they're okay or that we're close to getting them back. All that Daddy has been doing is hiding away in meetings with family to plan things for a solution and trying to keep me unaware to it. I know he is trying to protect me and keep me happy or hopeful but I am blind, not deaf. I can tell by their fake voices as they tell me that everything is ok that it really isn't. But they're so busy and oblivious that they don't realize how little of that work I've really done that was meant to distract me. It's so easy to sneak away from Uncle Killer and I've spent more time with Uncle Farmer, who has been coming around frequently since Uncle Horror was taken. I usually talk with him and we cheer each other up since he is genuinely optimistic about the future, reassuring me that everything is going to be okay. Our family is strong after all. He says they've been through a lot so they can get through this as well. That's much more comforting.
But nobody is aware of the scheme that is forming in my mind as I research into it further and check the garden. A scheme of revenge.
Today is very tough for me, especially since today I am turning five without them here to celebrate it. Can I even celebrate it without them? It's certainly not a happy one without them. I'll just go through my routine.
"Hi, Uncle Farmer!"I say, my tentacles guiding me around again
"Back out to the garden, Birthday Boy?"He asks
"Yep!"I say
"Isn't there supposed to be a certain uncle with you? How do you keep sneaking away?"He asks
"It's Uncle Killer. Plus he can't exactly watch me when Daddy is dragging him into meetings."I chuckle
That makes him chuckle as well.
"Have fun in the garden. I'm gonna nap."He says
"Rest well, Uncle Farmer! You're going to need it!"I say with a chuckle
He chuckles again.
"Listen, you were a peaceful baby until you started crawling. I have no problem with caring for a hyper son that's up before a rooster."He says
"Peaceful? Since when was anything here peaceful? With anyone? I live with Uncle Killer!"I say
"Maybe he influenced you too much."He says
I chuckle.
"Maybe..."I say
Then I hear him snore so I go past him to the garden itself, where all the flowers are.
"Heeey, Radier! Happy birthday!"A sweet voice says
Oh right, I forgot to mention that I made a new friend. She often wanders outside the property gates and fences, saying that she enjoys AU hopping. She greeted me once and we started talking. We became friends so every few days I sneak out to the fence and chat with her. She is really sweet and understanding.
"Hi, Shino!"I say
I feel something get placed in my hand.
"I got a cookie for you! My parents don't bake often so I'm sorry that it isn't a cake! They're so busy!"She says
"It's fine...Thanks, Shino."I say
"Why don't you seem excited about your birthday?"She asks
"My uncle and dad still haven't been found. They're not back and still missing...My cousin is still missing as well..."I say
