[37] Paradise City

Yuka's pov

When Kaiba and Joey had finally finished their argument, Kaiba still got his way because it was decided that a tournament would be held. It would alternate between turbo duels and battle royales. This is because when we need to fight against the soldiers it would be a battle royale and when fighting the rogetcops it would be a turbo duel.

The tournament would be sponsored by the Leo Corps and Kaiba Corps, both advertising the tournament as a spontaneous one because we had no idea when Roget and Zorc would open up portals to send in their minions threw. We are also going to advertise the event where the opponents are dressed up in obelisk and rogetcop outfits.

This was agreed upon because we don't want to panic everyone. The more we keep it under wraps, the better. Sure people from the xyz and fusion side of the city would question it but Declan and Kaiba were going to deal with that.

The tournament would be taking place in Paradise City. This is because Paradise City has a built-in arc system underneath the whole city, so when we need to set up any duels last minute we can easily use the arc system. Not only that, the existing buildings will be protected from any of their attacks because it would layer the buildings in the system. That was the best feature because it meant we wouldn't have to rebuild the city if any damage occurred.

The problem is that the portals wouldn't only pop up in Paradise City, but will most likely be randomly opened into any city. That's when it was decided, without my opinion, once again, that the dragon and I would be in charge of controlling the portal...

I know, how do you control a magical portal which opens up randomly? I already argued this but all Declan said was that he pays me to do this... well he's not wrong, it's just way too much work... Plus, Kaiba just had to make his usual snide remarks. And he wonders why I don't want to work for him.

So after loads of contemplating, arguing, experimenting, coffee and sleep deprivation, we were able to come up with a method that should work. If it doesn't.... well I'm not liable for anything that happens, Declan is.

Our idea is to use both technology and magic to attract the portals to Paradise City, which includes using the LDS space satellite and having the Kaiba Corps for backup... I'm surprised that I was even permitted us them... We need the satellites to transmit the frequency over a larger range so that we can attract all the portals into Paradise City.

With that, plans were made to transfer me, the gang and Kaiba to Paradise City.

Timeskip to a few days later

3rd pov

'I can't believe dat we travelin' to Paradise City!' Joey had way too much energy.

'This is gonna be awesome!'

'Joey, Tristan, we're not going for a holiday.' Yugi laughed wearily.

'Where's Yuka?'

'Shhh! She's asleep. So all of you need to keep it down. She hasn't been sleeping properly ever since the attack.' Ruri scolded all of them while keeping an eye on Yuka who was sleeping on Yuya's shoulder.

'It's best to let this mortal get as much rest as possible.'

'Awe~ And here I thought you both didn't get along.' Rin cooed, causing the dragon to look away in embarrassment.
