Yuka's pov
Julia and I landed safely on the ground while the action field disappeared. Lifting my duel disk up, the cubes re-joined onto my duel disk for safekeeping.
Gazing at the smiling and laughing faces brightened my own smile even more.
This is how it should be. This is the true result of a duel.
'That really was something else, Yuka. You really must have upped your game to beat me like that.'
'Thanks, after the whole dimension thing it would be hard not to lose to fusion scum.' I smirked, the insult reminded me of a certain older, overprotective bird boy who uses Xyz summoning.
'Tch, you're just jealous of fusion power, pendulum idiot.' She
'Haha, like that's possible, Julia. I love pendulum and Xyz. And if I'm an idiot what does that make you? After all, you just lost to this so-called "idiot"'
Our conversation was interrupted by a small boy who sported an excited smile.
'That was amazing! Your dragon is so cool! And how you jumped off the building and came back on your dragon! WOW!' He jumped up and down, animatedly explaining.
'Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed my dueltainment! But don't try jumping off any buildings, OK? I was able to do that because I'm a dueltainer and have a lot of practice. I'm trained professionally.
'Also that field has a special feature to prevent people from hurting themselves too badly, but you could get seriously hurt so promise me you won't.' I told him kneeling down to his height as I stared into his eyes.
He looked at me and promised not to.
'But hey! You have to thank my fri-' I got a glare for that comment, so I decided to change it to, 'Um acquaintance as well! I can't duel by myself otherwise it wouldn't be fun and don't you think she did amazing as well?'
'Yeah, you were amazing. That knight was super big and strong.' You could see actual stars appearing in his eyes.
The comment made Julia embarrassed. I could tell because she turned her head and mumbled thanks, causing, me to laugh silently so I wouldn't get another death glare.
'John, where are you!'
'Oh... my mum's calling, I need to go... but thank you for that duel. I want to become a dueltainer and become strong just like you someday' He said looking at me.
I laughed and ruffled his hair, 'I can't wait and when you do, I promise to duel you as well. But don't forget, a dueltainer's mission is to make people happy, not winning or losing, it's nice to win but making people smile is nicer.'
He nodded before running off.
'Well, it looks like I have more things to learn, but don't think you'll win the next time we duel, Sakaki. I'll beat you the next time we meet.' With that said, Julia started to walk away.
'I wouldn't be too sure Julia! I've beaten you many times before! Maybe the pendulum will swing in your favour next time, or maybe it won't, who knows? What I do know is that I will give it my all and won't hold back on a great performance.'
'I look forward to it.' With that, she was gone, I smiled to myself, It was nice seeing someone from Paradise City, it's like a part of home was in that duel.
Placing my millennium bracelet back on, I heard some footsteps behind me and was greeted by my new friends and Grandpa Muto.
'Oh hey, there you guys are!' I cheered, the duel had put me in a good mood.
