Yuka's pov

I was tinkering away in my lab at home, trying to add improvements to the pro arc cubes. They were still prototypes, so I needed to keep making adjustments here and there to improve their quality.

Right now I am trying to improve the quality of the visuals because some parts would start glitching and pixilating. Luckily no one had noticed during my duels because they happened in places that you wouldn't look at or pay much attention to.

But if this problem wasn't sorted out now, it would be a bigger headache to sort out later. Plus there would be a higher chance someone could notice and that would harm my reputation. After all, I am a well-known inventor in the science field.

But staring at a holographic screen for so many hours was starting to strain my eyes. Tilting my head back I pressed down on my eyelids to relieve some of the strain.

'Ding'

I picked up my phone and saw Yami had texted me.

I had forgotten I had exchanged numbers with the gang because I had been holed up in my lab for the majority of the weekend.

'Aren't you going to reply, Human?'

'Ahhh!' I glared at the scally reptile, I had almost dropped my phone because of him, 'Don't just pop up out of nowhere!'

'I shall do as I please.'

Rolling my eyes, I ignored him and saw Yami asking if I could hang out with him and the gang.

Shall I carry on working or have some fun?... Usually, I would want to finish this off but I need a break, so fun it is!

Timeskip

'Fresh air! I've been cooped up for too long!' I yelled as I made my way to Yugi's house.

'You stayed inside voluntarily, Human.'

'Yuka!'

'Hi! So what are we doing? Yami just told me to come here.'

'We decided to play board games have pizza and maybe watch a movie.' Tea seemed to have a perfect idea of what we were doing. She was on a roll and I knew I would be dragged along.

'Guess what we're playin' It had to be good because Joey was pumped up and ready to play.

'We're playing Monopoly.' Tristan blurted out before Joey could, leading Joey to chase Tristan. While I watched them with a horrified look.

'Our friendship's too young to end...'

'Oh well. It was nice knowing them for these short 7 days. Just try harder with your new friends you'll need to make after playing this game.'

'You're enjoining this too much.'

'If it bothers you so much, just be easy on them.'

'You and I both know that won't happen. Later on in the game we'll forget and get competitive.'

'Why are you saying "we"?'

'Because you'll encourage me.'

'Joey, is this your way of saying that you don't want to be friends with me anymore?'

'Wha' They all looked at me confused.

'They can't blame me for what's about to happen...'
