Gabe is the God of Earthquakes. As someone with literal ties to the Earth, he is the definition of "stone cold serious". It is incredibly difficult to get him to laugh, or cry, or express anything other than "this is my resting bitch face". Gods like Bel, the God of Discourse, have tried, but such stories of any person, human or god, causing his stone cold exterior to crack only belong to myths and legends.

His job is to monitor the tectonic plates of the planet. If he ever feels that it is necessary for a plate to move, to make way for another plate or something else, he will cause it to move. Such a process usually results in earthquakes ranging from every level on the Richter Scale, and creates formations like mountain ranges and chasms.

He often works in tandem with Delta, the God of Eruptions, as one reaction usually leads to the other. He also shares several sympathies with the explosive god; his earthquakes are usually incredibly destructive, so humans view him as a vengeful god and leave several offerings and sacrifices in an attempt to appease his fury. Little do they know that causing earthquakes is simply his job, which is necessary in order for life on Earth to continue. He and Delta frequently feel misunderstood and under appreciated.

But like Delta is also associated with fertility because of his volcanic soil, Gabe is also associated with rebirth. His earthquakes are destructive, but what they knock down can be rebuilt in time, and can be built twice as better at that. The rebuilding process can bring help to bring previously reclusive communities together; both of these effects brings Gabe some solace in his work.
