"It can't be.You've got to be joking." I thought to myself before he caught my gaze.

Just by his facial expression, I knew that he recognized me. I didn't look away, I continued to look at him. He did, too.

Eventually, the voice of my teacher broke the gaze by instructing him to sit next to me. It was like my life flashed before my eyes.

"Damn you, Mrs Jung," I mumbled under my breath.

He approached the row I sat on. He greeted a few students who sat in the same row as me before he finally arrived at his seat and sat down.

Not a word came out of his mouth.

Once my teacher was done assigning seats, she began the lesson. For some reason, it was hard to concentrate due to his presence next to me. I didn't know if he felt the same way, but I guess he was good at hiding it.

From time to time, I would find an excuse to look at him. Thankfully, he wouldn't notice, but as time went on, I eventually stopped trying to look at him since I didn't want to get caught.

Once the lesson was over, I rushed out of the class and headed to my locker. I took out the books that I needed for my next classes.

I shut the door of my locker and immediately got startled.

"Boo!"

I screamed and nearly dropped my phone and a bag of chips.

"Got you, sucker!"

"Can you please stop doing that? One day, I'm going to have a heart attack and possibly die!" I yelled.

Hyunjin didn't seem fazed. He always told me that he wasn't scared of me. In his words, "You're just a tiny little brat."

Eventually, he apologized. He chuckled as he apologized, and I knew that he wasn't serious.

I then realized that we had the next 3 classes together, which was why he approached me in such a traumatizing way.

We walked to our next class together.

As we walked, he asked me a question that I didn't expect to hear at all.

"Is Daniel in your biology class?"

"Who's Daniel?" I asked in confusion.

"Yeonjun, dumbass."

He could tell that I was still confused. He rolled his eyes and began to describe the person.

"Oh! That guy? Yes, he is... why do you ask?"

"I heard him talking about you to his friends. That's when I started to put the pieces together. You just had biology. He had biology, but then I remembered that he wasn't in your class prior."

As he went on with his long and dreaded explanation, I couldn't help but wonder why he was talking about me.

We never spoke to each other, not even once, I hardly saw him around, and what was so interesting about me?
