As I approached the school gates, a mixture of anticipation and trepidation swirled within me. The previous night had been a whirlwind of emotions, and today was the day I'd see my best friend Yeji again. I hoped she would be the comforting presence I needed to navigate the uncertainty that lay ahead.

My heart quickened as I scanned the school courtyard, searching for Yeji. Finally, my eyes fell upon her by the bleachers, engrossed in a book. She looked so serene, as if nothing had changed between us.

Approaching her, I tried to muster up the courage to greet her. I finally blurted out a nervous, "Yeji!"

She looked up, her face breaking into a warm smile. "Ara, you're here! I've been waiting for you."

We both knew we had to address the unspoken truth that hung between us like a heavy cloud. As I sat down next to her, we exchanged silly, knowing glances. Yeji had discovered the secret I shared with Hoshi during our sleepover, and I wasn't sure how to broach the topic.

"So," Yeji began, her voice gentle, "how was last night? With Hoshi, I mean."

My cheeks flushed, and I fidgeted with a strand of my hair. "It was...unexpected. I didn't plan for it to happen."

Yeji placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Ara, it's okay. You don't have to be embarrassed. These things sometimes just happen, and you can't control your feelings."

I sighed in relief, grateful for her understanding. "It's just that I don't know how to feel about it. It was special, but I'm worried about what it means for us."

Yeji turned to me, her eyes filled with empathy. "Ara, don't let it weigh you down. Embrace the moment for what it was. Love is a beautiful thing, and you shared something intimate with someone you care about. That's precious."

Her words were like a soothing balm to my troubled soul. I nodded, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. "You're right, Yeji. I shouldn't overthink it. I should cherish the experience we had."

We continued talking about our feelings, our worries, and our hopes, all the while providing each other with the comfort and support we needed. Yeji was truly a confidante and a pillar of strength, and I was grateful to have her by my side.

As the bell for our first class drew near, we reluctantly stood up. "We should get going," Yeji said, her expression more composed now.

I nodded, appreciating her unwavering support. "Thank you, Yeji, for being here for me. I don't know what I would do without you."

Yeji smiled, linking her arm with mine. "That's what best friends are for, Ara. We'll navigate this together, just like we always have."

With that, we headed off to our respective classes, our friendship stronger than ever. I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and optimism as I faced the challenges of the day ahead, knowing that I had Yeji's unwavering friendship and support to see me through.

I sat in my usual spot at the back of the art class, a cozy corner where I could immerse myself in my canvas and colors. The room buzzed with creativity as my classmates worked diligently on their art projects. I was lost in my own world, sketching away, until I noticed Yeonjun setting up his materials right beside me. My heart raced, and my cheeks turned a light shade of pink. It was an unexpected but pleasant surprise to have my crush right next to me.

"Hey, Ara," Yeonjun greeted me with a warm smile.

"Hi, Yeonjun," I replied, trying to keep my cool, though my heart was pounding. "Working on something interesting today?"

He chuckled. "Just trying to make sense of this abstract mess. By the way, how long have you and Yeji been friends? You two seem really close."

I hesitated for a moment. "Oh, we've been friends for ages, like practically forever."

Yeonjun nodded thoughtfully, and we continued to chat about Yeji and shared stories. As the conversation flowed, I couldn't help but feel a sense of connection with him.

At one point, I decided to steer the conversation in a different direction. "You know, Yeonjun, it's interesting how people can develop feelings for someone without even realizing it."

He looked at me, curious. "What do you mean?"

I took a deep breath. "Like, say someone you've known for a while, and you suddenly see them in a different light, you know?"

Yeonjun's brow furrowed slightly. "I think I get what you're saying. Sometimes, feelings can change over time."

As our art class progressed, I started to feel a growing urge to use the bathroom, so I excused myself from our conversation for a moment. As I headed out, I ran into Hana, Hoshi's ex-girlfriend. The tension between us was palpable.

Hana gave me a condescending smile. "Ara, right? The girl who thinks she's got Hoshi wrapped around her finger now."

I arched an eyebrow. "Hana, the expert in getting dumped, I presume?"

She scowled, clearly not expecting my comeback. "You won't be able to hold onto him for long. He's coming back to me, whether you like it or not."

I clenched my fists, refusing to back down. "Hana, Hoshi deserves better than you. I won't let you manipulate him into your trap."

Hana's eyes flared with anger. "I'll remove you out of the way, one way or another."

I met her challenge head-on. "Go ahead, Hana. I'll protect Hoshi from your toxic grip on his heart."

With that, I turned and walked away, leaving Hana seething with frustration. Despite Hoshi was not someone I was romantically involved with but I was determined to stir him away from Hana, who was a cunning liar with pretty privilege.
