The school day had finally ended

As my brother and I walked home, I thought about what I was going to do since I didn't have any homework, which was a great thing.

We took a pit stop at a convenience store and bought ourselves some snacks, and proceeded with our walk home.

Once I've arrived, I noticed a huge truck outside the house next to mine on the left if you're walking towards my house. My mother always mentions that there was a new family that was moving in, and in that moment, I assumed that it was them.

I approached my house and noticed that the family looked quite wealthy, judging by their furniture and many other items.

"At least one of my neighbors is rich." I thought to myself before entering my house.

I greeted my mother and walked upstairs to my bedroom. I quickly changed out of my uniform and wore something comfortable, which was grey sweatpants, a tank top, and paired it with my slippers.

I ran downstairs to the kitchen and made myself ramen noodles. As I was pouring the water, I heard a knock on the door.

I placed the pot down and quickly walked toward the front door, opening it only to reveal someone I didn't expect.

"Hi, Ara. I'm sorry to disturb you, but is your mom here?"

I stared at him. I only saw his mouth move but couldn't interpret what he said because I was starstruck and lost for words.

"Ara?"

I immediately snapped out of my trance and responded.

"Oh, sorry, my mom? She's inside."

I turned around and called out to my mother. I saw her emerging from the living room. As she got closer, a wide smile appeared on her face.

"Hoshi! Hello, young man. Need help?" My mother asked.

He agreed. My mother left and followed Hoshi. I noticed that both of them were walking towards the direction of where the truck was parked, and then the realization hit me.

Hoshi was the new neighbor. My jaw dropped due to utter shock.

I didn't have a problem with him. He was indeed attractive, but he looked like a player to me.

"Hoshi, the new neighbor, interesting." I thought to myself.

I walked back inside the house and to the kitchen. I continued with where I left off with my noodles.

Once I was done, I began to eat.

Hours passed by, and it was already late in the evening.

Throughout the remaining hours after my traumatic encounter with Hoshi, I just ate my noodles and caught up with my artworks.

I never took art as a subject at school. Art wasn't something I was highly passionate about, and I wanted to ever pursue it, I thought of it as a hobby.

My parents wanted me to be a doctor. The thought of being a doctor never satisfied me. I loved investigating, getting into the bottom of things, coming up with a hypothesis, and knowing the possibilities of things. Most of these qualities do resonate with being a doctor, but I still didn't want to study and be one.

I was upstairs in my bedroom and proceeded to journal about my day. As journaled, my next topic was about Yeonjun and my super huge crush on him.

I never stopped thinking about Yeonjun. He was constantly on my mind. I've always wanted to confess to him, but I was scared of rejection.

Which is why I didn't confess at all, I just wanted to protect my heart.
