Hoshi returned to the room with an apologetic look, and I couldn't help but notice the tension in his posture. I needed to clear the air, so I took a deep breath and asked the question that had been haunting me.

"Hoshi, about what happened earlier..." My voice trailed off, and I could see his expression shift from uncertainty to realization.

He scratched the back of his head, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. "I, uh, I was a bit tipsy, and I didn't realize what I was doing. I didn't mean to make things awkward."

I nodded, choosing to brush it off. "It's fine, Hoshi. Let's not dwell on it."

We resumed our conversation, discussing our hobbies and interests, and sharing stories about our favorite books and movies. The atmosphere in the room slowly relaxed, and I found myself enjoying the time we were spending together.

But just as we were diving into a heated debate about our contrasting tastes in music, the inevitable knock on the door interrupted us once again. Hoshi sighed and went to answer it, while I sat back, anticipating yet another unwelcome interruption.

The door swung open, revealing a striking young woman with fiery red hair. My heart sank as I recognized her - Hoshi's ex-girlfriend. Their heated argument quickly spilled into the room, a torrent of unresolved feelings and accusations.

A tense silence hung in the air as I watched the drama unfold. Hoshi's ex-girlfriend, with anger etched across her face, accused him of betrayal, while Hoshi tried to explain his side of the story.

After a few minutes of verbal sparring, the tension became too much for me to bear. I couldn't stay in that room any longer, caught in the crossfire of their unresolved emotions. I stood up abruptly, my chair scraping against the floor, and said, "I need some air."

Without waiting for a response from Hoshi, I hurriedly left his room and headed downstairs, the echo of their argument still ringing in my ears.

As I descended the stairs, my mind was a whirlwind of emotions, and I barely noticed the partygoers around me. And then, as if fate had played its hand, I bumped into someone, and my heart skipped a beat.

It was Yeji, standing there with a charming smile. "Hey, Ara. Are you okay?" She asked, concern in her eyes.

I forced a smile and nodded, not wanting to burden her with my emotional turmoil. We exchanged a few words, and as we talked, I couldn't help but be grateful for this unexpected encounter. Despite the chaos of the party, for a moment, it felt like the universe had conspired to bring us together to calm my emotions.

In that brief moment, the worries of the night seemed to fade away, and I was left with the warmth of Yeji's presence, a reminder that sometimes life has a way of surprising you when you least expect it. Especially if it's your best friend.

"Let's go grab some drinks!" Yeji grabbed my hand and dragged me to the kitchen.

She poured a cup with a cool drink and added vodka to it. "This is yours."

I took the cup from her hand. I took a sip and surprisingly I didn't taste the vodka which was a good thing since I hated the taste of it.

She poured herself the same thing. I decided to sit on the counter, avoiding any human interactions. "Are you okay?" Yeji asked once again.

"I'm perfectly fine," I said with a fake smile on my face.

She didn't believe me. She forced me to tell her the truth until I eventually did. Yeji couldn't believe what happened. When I explained that Hoshi's ex-girlfriend barged into his room it completely angered her.

"Please don't cause any chaos. I don't want drama."

"That bitch must know her place since she's a cheater!"

Yeji took a deep breath. "But I won't try anything stupid for now."

I sighed in relief. However, I couldn't understand why I felt so emotional after seeing Hoshi's ex-girlfriend. I knew that I certainly didn't have feelings for him.

"But it doesn't mean we're not going to socialize with hot guys."

She pulled me off the counter. I followed her to the living room. I decided to stand aside and watch her transform herself into a social butterfly.
