The thumping music from the party downstairs faded to a distant hum as Hoshi led me to his bedroom. We squeezed through the door, and with a sigh of relief, I found myself in a cozy sanctuary away from the raucous celebration.

Hoshi's room was a reflection of his personality-filled with art, music posters, and an impressive collection of vinyl records. We settled onto his bed, surrounded by a sea of plush pillows. The soft glow of fairy lights hanging around the room cast a warm, intimate ambiance.

He handed me a small, intricately decorated box. "Want to see my collection of antique pocket watches?" Hoshi's eyes sparkled with genuine enthusiasm for his hobby.

I nodded, intrigued, and he began to carefully open the box, revealing an array of delicate timepieces. As we discussed their history and craftsmanship, it became clear how passionate he was about this unique interest.

While discussing hobbies, I couldn't help but wonder about Hoshi's romantic life. "So, is there anyone special you have your eye on, Hoshi?"

He looked at me, his expression thoughtful. "Actually, there is someone I've been crushing on for a while. They're incredibly talented, with this amazing sense of humor that always brightens my day. I just can't get them out of my mind."

I leaned in, genuinely interested. "Tell me more. What's this person like?"

Hoshi began to describe his crush with such admiration, using words like "captivating" and "incredibly kind." It was clear he was deeply infatuated.

As we continued talking, I couldn't help but feel a strange mix of emotions. The way he spoke about this mystery person, it was as if he was describing me. But that couldn't be, right? We were friends, and I had no reason to suspect that he saw me in a romantic light.

The room was charged with tension, our words lingering in the air like secrets waiting to be revealed. Hoshi's gaze locked onto mine, and I felt my heart racing. It was then that he leaned closer, his face inching toward mine, his intentions clear.

Just as our lips were about to meet, a sudden, sharp knock on the bedroom door startled us both. Hoshi pulled back, and we exchanged a bewildered glance. It was like a spell had been broken.

Hoshi called out, "Who is it?"

A muffled voice from the other side of the door informed us that someone needed to talk to him. Frustration and disappointment crept into Hoshi's expression as he stood up to answer the door.

I watched him leave the room, feeling a whirlwind of emotions. Had he been talking about me, or was I just seeing things that weren't there? The uncertainty gnawed at me as I sat alone in the softly lit room, waiting for Hoshi to return and provide the answers I desperately sought.

I reached for my phone in my jacket and dialed Hyunjin's phone number. As usual, he answered after the second ring.

"Hello, human!"

He was already drunk. That didn't stop me from wanting to tell me what was down.

"Hoshi and I almost kissed."

That sentence alone sobered him really quickly. "What!?"

"Hoshi almost kissed me." I repeated my statement.

Hyunjin asked where I was exactly, but I assured him that I was alright and he shouldn't worry. He was still persistent until he eventually gave up.

"Call me if he tries anything funny. I wouldn't mind showing him my inner Bruce Lee."

I couldn't help but laugh, but I assured him that I'd let him know.

Once again, I sat in Hoshi's room in silence, waiting for him to come back so that I can seek answers from him.
