"Please don't contact me for a while. I'll stay with Avery, so don't worry."It's been two weeks since I left home. Avery graciously welcomed me into her residence, offering comfort during those moments when I felt like breaking down. Her presence felt like a soothing balm to my aching heart, a solace in the midst of chaos.
Sakto rin kasing may business trip 'yung asawa ni Avery sa Canada and it will take a month kaya kailangan din ni Avery ng kasama sa bahay niya. She would always complain how she's alone and how she misses her husband kaya I was just in time para samahan siya. Fortunately, her husband trusts me implicitly, understanding my orientation and never harboring any suspicions.
Despite stringent laws and enforcement, criminal activities persist. Evil never seems to cease. Just kidding.
I did ask Kade not to contact me for a while, but I never anticipated his complete silence. Not a single call, text, or any form of communication for an entire week. It felt like radio silence. I thought maybe he'd come after me, or at least check up on me at Avery's place, but he didn't. No sign of Kade. He didn't even attempt to explain.
After I left that night, I was looking forward on how he would explain the lipstick stain and how he would reassure me of his love kaya hindi ko na nadala 'yung mga laptop at ilang essentials ko kasi akala ko babalik lang din ako kinabukasan.
I was driven by madness that time so I left. My emotions were all over the place so I left. But I know Kade's love for me is unwavering, so there must be a reasonable explanation for that stain on his collar.
But still, he made no attempt to reach out.
Sa sobrang imbyerna ko sa ginawa niya, though it's partly my fault, I blocked him.
Natiis niyang hindi ako kausapin? Titiisin ko rin.
Che.
"Hiro, 'sup!"
Hindi ko naman siya matanggihan kasi I will benefit from it," she explained, glancing at me with a grin. "Ano? Astig ng madiskarte mong best friend, 'no? Magtatrabaho pa rin kahit walang office," she winked at me.
I scoffed, taking the cup from her and sipping its contents.
