Over the next few weeks, me and Buggy couldn't keep our hands off of each other. The only time we weren't sleeping together, or weren't touching each other, was when he was steering the ship, or I was cooking. Since Buggy was doing the sailing, I felt responsible for providing something. Luckily, I was a pretty decent chef.
If it wasn't for me, Buggy would never eat. Each night, I'd bring him a full dinner and force him to eat it all. I would sit by him as he steered the ship, we would talk, about everything and nothing. It was fun, despite the sea sickness and looming threat that we would reach the treasure soon.
The sooner we reached the treasure, the sooner we would head home to my town. Then, I'd get to see whether or not Buggy was telling the truth about not leaving me behind. So, I prayed the weeks would go slow.
However, of course, what I wanted I didn't get. The weeks flew by. Every so often, Buggy would tell me what day of the week it was, and I'd be shocked beyond belief. Days blurred together, one day it would be Monday, then the next it was suddenly Saturday. Where did the time go?
Selfishly, I prayed for a storm or something that would slow us down. I distracted Buggy as often as I could, yet he still spent a lot of time behind the steering wheel each day.
Then, one day, he asked me to join him by the wheel. I had been sitting behind him, reading a book and trying to distract myself from all of my crazy thoughts. I stood up, joining him by his side.
He looped his arms around my waist, pulling my back against his front, he behind me and me in front. He pointed to the horizon. "Our island is over that way."
The island that had the treasure on it. That treasure was responsible for so much of what had happened in my life in the past year. After all, without that treasure, there would never had been a map, Buggy would never have came to my town, he would never had kidnapped me and brought me along on this journey with him.
Lastly, I would never have fallen in love with him, and he would never have fallen in love with me. How different both of our lives would be. Before, I had been mildly unhappy in my life. I had been bored, and unsatisfied. A life without Buggy wasn't worth even imagining.
"How long until we get there?" I asked, turning in his grasp so that I was looking up at his face.
Today, he looked absolutely gorgeous. Like usual, he had no makeup on whatsoever. His face was bare and clean, although his jawline had a thickening stubble gathering on it. It made him look incredibly manly. Despite the fact that we had already had sex that day, I suddenly wanted to jump on him again.
Those blue eyes were filled with excitement all of a sudden. "We'll be there by tomorrow."
My heart dropped in my chest, and I physically stumbled backwards. Luckily, Buggy managed to grab a hold of me and hold me in place. His eyes flashed with worry.
"I-I... sorry. I got dizzy there."
"Here," he said, directing me over to my seat behind the steering wheel. I sunk down on it, the whole world spinning around me. "Do you want something? Food or water or - ?"
"Water would be good."
He nodded, then quickly headed off to grab me some. I had done that on purpose. I needed a moment without him, to compose myself. He hadn't seemed to pick up on my nerves and anxiety at the idea of reaching the island. Buggy was so excited to get there, to get his treasure.
Guilt exploded inside of me. Buggy was a pirate and this treasure was one of the biggest that he'd ever searched for. I wouldn't ruin this for him.
Moreover, reaching the treasure wasn't the end. Not at all. We still had months and months until we would reach our island again. Yet, these last few weeks had flown by and felt like only a couple of days. Those months until we would reach my town would probably feel even shorter.
