Stefan was in his bed having nightmares about Silas. After spending all that time at the bottom of the Quarry, every time he closed his eyes he remembered the torture of drowning over and over again. In his nightmare he heard Elena's voice whisper "Stefan" and that was enough for the vampire to suddenly wake up.

Elena was in his room, having just opened the curtains. She was holding a cup of coffee and smiled at the vampire.

"Morning. I made coffee. How did you sleep?"

"Oh... Not great."

"First night back in your own bed. Not as comfy as Tessa's couch, huh?"

"If we're gonna talk about Tessa, I think I'm gonna need that caffeine" responded Stefan and reached for the glass, taking it from the doppelgänger took a sip. "So, uh, what's with the wake up call?"

"I miss you. I feel like when you lost your memories, I lost a friend, and I was thinking instead of just describing how much we meant to each other, maybe we could just start fresh. Hi, I'm Elena."

"I was driving to Portland" interrupted Stefan looking ahead.

"What?"

"The night I took Silas to the quarry, I said goodbye to Lexi, and then I decided to keep driving west"

"Wait. Hang on. How do you remember that?" asked Elena confused and walked closer to Stefan.

"Because my memories are back."

"Really? Are you serious? How?"

"Tessa came here last night, and she undid whatever spell fried my brain and it's all back. I can remember everything."

"Stefan, this is great!" smiled Elena excitedly and hugged Stefan. "This is amazing."

Stefan did not exactly think that, but did not want the girl to look disappointed. Elena walked out of the room allowing Stefan to get ready.

Once he finally walked down, it seemed Damon was sceptical, so there they were, Stefan sitting in a chair while Damon was testing Stefan's memory.

"October 1852."

"You broke my nose trying to teach me how throw a right hook."

"But not on purpose" defended Damon immediately and turned slightly to Elena. "Just to be clear."

Elena just laughed and kept looking between the siblings, while Damon continued his questioning.

"How much did you pay for that hunk of junk motorcycle you ride."

"That's a trick question. You bought me that motorcycle, although I'm guessing it was pretty expensive."

"So Tessa just gave you back your memories, no strings attached?" questioned Damon confused, but finally accepting that Stefan had all of his memories back.
