Genevieve laid lazily on the couch in Klaus' art room, wearing just her lingerie, while Klaus got dressed.

"Like a man who's made peace with his demons" commented the newly resurrected witch, keeping her eyes on the hybrid.

"My demons are dead or chased off."

"Yes, apart from the one lingering monster with whom you share a bed" came the voice of Elijah who suddenly entered the room and glared at Genevieve, before he addressed her distastefully, holding out her heels in his hand. "I trust you can find your clothing and the door."

Genevieve stood up, took her heels from him and left the room, allowing the brothers to have a private conversation.

"You do recall that woman tortured our sister?"

"She also revealed the truth about our sister's treachery."

"And as a consequence, Rebekah is gone forever."

"A desire which she apparently harboured for quite some time!"

"Niklaus, it has been a month. Now, I feel our sister's loss as deeply as you. But, you must stop distracting yourself with this ridiculous behaviour and channel it into some kind of action."

Klaus looked at his brother and after grabbing his paintbrush returned to his art and responded to his older brother nonchalantly.

"Why must I, exactly?"

"Because over the course of Marcel's tenure, the city grew accustomed to having a king. You wanted this throne. Now, you must accept the responsibility that accompanies that."

Hearing all that, the hybrid just shrugged, began to paint and only paid half attention to him.

"Apologies, but I'm rather ensconced in other pursuits."

Elijah however was not having it, not with everything on the line to ensure the safety of their family. He snatched the paintbrush from Klaus' hand and immediately called him out once more.

"If you can so easily neglect your home, I wonder what will become of your daughter. Have you forgotten what it was like to live beneath the threat of violence? We must work together, Niklaus. Let's make this city whole again."

"Perhaps it is too broken to mend" commented the hybrid and took his paintbrush back then returned to his painting.

"If you won't do anything, I will."
