"So we all agree? No more moping about life's little failures and no more dabbling the dark arts of boyfriends past. This is a fresh start" announced Caroline and turning back looked at the happy looking Elena, a confused Bonnie.
"Couldn't agree more. I happen to love fresh starts."
"Um, I haven't been moping or dabbling" commented Bonnie and they all sat down.
"No one likes a bragger, Bonnie."
There was an empty seat between Bonnie and a girl in her class. The girl had her purse on the seat which made Bonnie address the blonde.
"Hey, do you mind if I share?" the girl, without even looking at Bonnie, threw her own purse on the floor in an "I-don't-care" attitude which earned a sarcastic response from Bonnie very quickly. "Great. Thanks. Appreciate it."
"Today is the dawning of a new era. This is stage one of our metamorphosis into the land of the brave, the free, and the single" continued Caroline, making sure she got her speech right two her friends.
"Bonnie's not single" commented Elena carefully.
"Bonnie's best friends are single, which makes her single adjacent. So she can be our wing woman. Not to mention she might be the only one to convince Malik to come and join us. As far as I'm concerned he is single and could do with a fresh start. With his ex-boyfriend being in a frozen sleep state and his affair with Klaus..." she pulled out a flyer and gave it to Elena.
"'Whitmore's Annual Bitter Ball, a night to celebrate broken hearts, jilted lovers, and bitter singles.' This is our fresh start?"
"No. This is our purge, our cleanse. This is where we rid ourselves from the baggage better known as our tragic and mortifying first semester."

As Caroline kept taking in the background, Bonnie noticed the girl next to her playing with her pen, twirling it on the seat's desk. But then, she kept twirling it... by hovering her hand over it without touching it. Bonnie opened her eyes and mouth in surprise.
"Bonnie!" called out Caroline, earning the other girls attention as well.
The blonde girl looked at Bonnie and saw that she has seen her and she slammed her hand on the pen, stopping it. Elena gently hit Bonnie with her elbow to get her attention.
"Bonnie, you in?" asked Caroline again.
"Yeah. Yeah. Sounds like fun."
"Can you convince Malik to join us?"
"That might not be as easy as you think..."
"What do you mean?" asked Elena to which Bonnie responded carefully.
"With everything that happened... Malik isn't exactly keen on doing these things. Given that he did not went to his chosen college. I can ask but I'm not sure..."
