Renjun's POV:
Two girls exit the room. They are wearing unusual dresses but that is far from my worries right now.
"Where are you?" Chenle talks into my earpiece.
I can't really say much right now—seeing how I'm undercover—so I text him instead.
I think I found where Y/N might be, get back to the hall just incase Haechan is there and please take your seats.
Chenle shrieks into my ear and I jump at this, mentally making a note to turn down the volume next time.
"Sorry, I'll go back." He must've figured that he was a little too loud.
A bunch of ladies further file out of the room wearing the same unusual dress in the same color too, but Y/N is nowhere to be seen.
After I sense that every single one of them has left, I tiptoe into the secret room, seeing how no one took it as their initiative to lock it.
Just like I had expected, there are clothes on racks, make up materials sprawled on the counters in front of several mirrors.
"Who are you?" Someone calls from behind.
I turn around slowly, not afraid, but curious. I meet a short woman who's dressed in a formal outfit. If I knew better I would've guessed that she is a waitress.
"Umm, I lost my way." I lie to her very innocently. "Do you know where the hall is?"
Rule number one, don't be suspicious.
The lady seems to believe me because she smiles at me. "Oh, it's this way sir." She motions for me to follow her and I do, hesitantly while still peeking around the room.
My earpiece buzzes right then and I walk out faster now, right behind the lady, tapping it to answer the call.
"We've reached." Mark starts. "There is no one here."
I'm about to curse under my breath when I realize the lady is still in front of me.
Rule number two, keep your composure around civilians.
"But, we found something." He says. "You're not gonna like it."
I'm starting to get mad at Mark now because he is beating around the bush. Or maybe he is just cautious and he doesn't want me to have an outburst.
The lady makes way for me because we're already at the hall and I spot my friends immediately. I nod at her, mumbling a 'thank you', and leave her at that.
Jaemin and Jisung walk in the moment I take a seat. Looks like they didn't get any further information either, because they wouldn't be here if something interesting was happening.
"They're planning to auction Y/N secretly at the function." Mark finally says.
The whole world stops for me and I grip the glass designated for me. What did I expect though, it's just a normal day for people like Choi brothers to continue their line of disgusting crimes.
"What!" I still manage to say, composed but loud enough for my friends to hear.
"Yeah, a guard told us that. We didn't even need to get it out of him. He said that he doesn't need to hide it because it's going to happen no matter what, and that we can't prevent it." Mark sighs after that.
I become awfully calm after each explanation he gives. Which misleads the other guys into guessing that everything is probably fine.
"Jeno and I have decided not to attend the function at all. We'll try to go undercover, behind the scenes. Is that okay?" Marks asks for confirmation because despite being a leader, he also needs affirmation from time to time.
