Renjun's POV:
The police took care of everything just like they should've done. Eunseok was arrested, while Minjae was dead. I wish he had been alive to recieve his punishment but maybe that was for the better. Also, I couldn't stand him just serving time when he proved to be lethal, especially to my girl.
Maya was freed and she came downstairs to recieve her child, politely thanking all of us, especially Y/N—even though she had not gained consciousness yet.
The police even had an ambulance come down here to check on everyone. Apart from Marks bullet wound and Jisung's busted lip, Y/N was the only one in a severe condition.
She was admitted into the Jilin City Hospital to get a better check up and the results weren't pretty at all. The doctor had come out and slowly asked who was the closest to her.
I unknowingly stepped forward, answering that it was me. He then looked down before saying, "It is really difficult to say anything right now, but the patient is slipping into a coma."
"What?" I voiced my exact thought. "No, no... this can't be happening."
The doctor then rested his hand on my shoulder before patting it. "I'm sorry."
He said it as if there was no hope in Y/N waking up, and I just couldn't understand the audacity this doctor had to assume things.
"Thank you doctor." Chenle realized the situation—being the only other member who could understand Mandarin—stepping in front of me.
The doctor left and I turned to my friends. "He's talking nonsense, she'll wake up."
I said it like it was a chant meant to assure myself more than anyone else. Not realizing that most of them probably hadn't understood anything because of the language barrier, since the doctor had spoken in mandarin.
"She'll definitely wake up. She has to."
*Present time*
I had been by Y/N's side the entire time, ever since she had slipped into a coma. Day and night. I refused to leave her side. Even when we traveled back to Korea, I was there with her.
I had always wished for this time. When everything was finally over. All of the misconceptions, bad things and people. Though I had never imagined it to turn out like this.
Especially with Y/N in a coma. She is so close to me, yet so far away.
"She's not fighting." The doctor had said multiple times. "Y/N seems exhausted, that she is hiding inside herself. She doesn't want to wake up."
Despite it all, I still have hope.
Y/N will wake up soon. It has only been five days anyways. And plus, everything must've been way too overwhelming for her so the shock was only natural.
She'll be back with us. My motivation everytime I stop by in the hospital. Which is multiple times a day to sit by her and talk to her. To change the flowers in her vase because Y/N loves flowers. To write her little notes, exposing my current feelings to her. To leave gifts for her.
The nurses watch me daily, some admiring my determination and some looking at me like I'm a madman but that is far from my worries. My only concern is Y/N.
The boys stop by daily too. A different member or two every day. It depends on who is free and when.
On the fourth day, I remembered that I needed to call someone here and explain most of everything to him because Y/N would appreciate it.
I remembered that Jisung had mentioned that she had a best friend, who was someone as close as family.
I made Jisung inform Eric about Y/N's condition and where she is being hospitalized. He was here in about thirty minutes from then and was really sad to see his friend in this condition.
He had even expressed how angry he was at himself for not checking up on Y/N despite them being on holiday. Eric didn't seem fazed or curious that we were around her, which was good for me because I didn't have the energy to explain things to him.
Maybe she told him way before all of this, or maybe he knew Jisung from school. Whichever way it was, I didn't mind.
Today is the fifth day, and I'm currently sitting close to Y/N's bed, writing her another note about how she needs to wake up soon because Xiao Ling called from Jilin City, and that she'd like to talk to her.
Maya had phoned first, sending her condolences through the phone and later gave it to her daughter to say hi to mostly Jisung.
I notice Y/N's hand twitching, once I've set the note on the desk next to her. So, I stand up to sit on the side of her bed instead before holding her hand.
"I know you are in there Y/N..." I start to say.
I don't know if my sentence was a summon but Y/N immediately wakes up, her upper body jolting off the bed.
She pants heavily as her eyes frantically move around the room, searching for something. I rest my hands on either side of her shoulders, before patting her back to insinuate that everything is going to be alright.
"It's okay, just lie down." I try to hide my excitement. I knew that Y/N would wake up soon but I just can't move past the fact that she has done it this soon. Which is the biggest joy of my life so far.
I hear Y/N trying to say something, but it only comes out as a whisper, and it's only natural because the oxygen mask around her is blocking her voice.
"Y/N, don't say anything. It's okay, I'll get the doctor." I assure her once I've made sure that she has fully lied down now.
I run out to find Eric, Chenle and Jeno there. Jeno is playing a game on his phone while Chenle is conversing with Eric.
They spot me bolt past them, not asking any questions. Seconds later, I'm back with the doctor and a few nurses who tell me to wait outside.
"What happened?" Jeno finally asks, tucking his phone away.
"Y/N gained consciousness." I beam not hiding my smile at all now that I'm outside.
"Really!" Eric and Chenle say at once and I nod my head towards them.
"She even tried to speak to me but that oxygen mask was blocking her voice." I say disappointedly, wishing I had atleast heard her voice.
"Don't worry, she'll be okay." Jeno assures me, sensing my worry.
My face lightens up again and I nod at him.
The doctor steps out with one nurse before stopping by us and turning to mostly me.
"She is out of danger." He nods his hand.
I deeply breathe out a sigh of relief, not knowing that I have been holding it.
"She is still unconscious due to the effect of medicine but rest assured, she'll be up in a few hours." The doctor continues. "Let's say, she'll be up by tomorrow morning, seeing how it's 10'o clock in the evening now."
I hadn't even realized that it happened to be so late because I was sitting in there for so long. Eric leaves shortly after that, promising us that he'll be early tomorrow.
