3rd POV
Phil took the next flight to Seattle and got a cab to drive him to Forks hospital.
When he arrived he was greeted by a stern faced Charlie "Phil, before we see Ana we need to talk about something's" Phil hesitatingly nodded and followed the older male into an office where he was introduced to Dr. Cullen who was on Ana's case.
The three men sat down and Dr. Cullen spoke up first to say "I think that we should start by asking why Ana only has medical records for her first year of life?" Phil was baffled and concerned as he said "I have no idea. My job required me to travel so I only physically saw her once or twice a year and I usually just called her. All of her medical and education stuff was handled by Renee until the divorce proceedings started."
Dr. Cullen nodded gravely and said "Well, there's no paper trail in her medical history so I'm left to assume that she hasn't received any vaccines or physicals since she was 1 years old. It's a bit surprising that she hasn't gotten anything worst than pneumonia" Phil nodded feeling like a crap parent "Uh, she takes vitamins...and takes elderberries?" He tries to supply the doctor with something.
Dr. Cullen nods with a sad look on his face as he sees the man before him is clearly not parent material, but he's trying to be there for Ana.
"I think that I should talk with Downey police and have them charge Renee with child neglect and endangerment" Charlie spoke up as he stood up "If Ana had gotten Polio, smallpox, or anything that she wasn't vaccinated for she could've died or cause an outbreak" Charlie left the room leaving Carlisle and Phil alone.
"Mr. Dwyer can you tell me your relationship with Renee.... And with Ana" Carlisle asked making Phil look at him warily "Why?" "I just want to get a better understanding of Ana's home life, and figure out why she hasn't had to go to a hospital yet" reluctantly Phil told Carlisle everything and it soon turned into a confession.
"I don't really love Ana or see her as my daughter, but I'm trying to do right by her, the truth is, is that I don't know how to" Phil admits feeling guilty for his emotions towards the sweet but intelligent young girl.
Carlisle frowns in pity before asking a question that will change Ana's life forever.....
