Tell me about Ana Dwyer

Chapter 14

3rd POV
Esme enters the throne room to see that Edward and Bella are gone and Tanya and Carlisle are having a heated conversation with Aro, Caius, and the queens.

"We can't raise Ana here, she's not ready for the full ingression of the supernatural world" Carlisle says "And she's far too young to even comprehend what it means to be a mate!" Tanya argued making Esme freeze and ask "Ana has a mate?"

This draws attention onto her and makes everyone nervous about the mother of the child in question.

No one knew better than Esme what it was like to meet your vampiric soulmate at the wrong time. She had first met Carlisle when she was 16 and instantly fell in love with him, but sadly got a forced engagement to her abusive husband.

She had wanted nothing more than to runaway with the kind doctor who looked at her as if she was an angel, and even as human she knew the pain that the mating bond posed.

If they separated Ana from her mate after meeting them, then Ana would die. No question about it. Mates (human, vampire, or other) died from living without each other and being rejected by each other.

Esme refused to lose another child and she wouldn't force Ana to go through the same pain that she had to when she had to when she married that wretched man.

"Ana is our mate" Jane spoke up nervously as she gestured towards herself and her twin which didn't really surprise Esme as she heard that twins often shared soulmates "I see..."

"I would like you, Ana, and your entire family to stay here in Volterra as to not cause any harm to their bond" Aro says making Esme look at him and simply say "No" everyone looked at her in surprise so Esme elaborated.

"Ana is still a child, she just turned 8. She can't stay here, however I will agree to summer vacations here for her to bond with her mates and extended family" Esme explained and Aro and Carlisle developed thoughtful expressions.

"I can agree to that" Carlisle said "So can I... but I don't like her lack of protection outside of Italy so we will keep her bond with the twins a secret" Aro says agreeingly before looking to Jane and Alec for their opinions.

Jane seemed uncomfortable but accepted the terms from her father and future mother by marriage. Sulpicia wrapped an arm around Jane's shoulders and smiled at her making said girl return her smile.

Alec on the other hand had one more term to add "We should also hold off on telling Ana about us being her mates" Everyone looked baffled by this so Alec explained "I don't want her to feel pressured into anything. It should feel like her decision to reciprocate the bond. Jane and I will sit down with her when she's 18 and discuss it with her privately."

Esme spoke up "That's probably for the best..." Rosalie suddenly realized that Ana wasn't in the room "Where is Ana?" She worriedly asked "Marcus offered to lay her down for a nap. With the plane ride and her normal sleeping habits she'll be out for at least 3 hours" Esme said making everyone nod, though Jane and Alec were concerned about what Esme meant by their mate's sleeping habits.

Ana's POV

"No! No! Please, no!" I begged as Bella went to stuff me in the linen closet at the house in Phoenix.

The closet was built with shelves that pressed against the door and were piled with extra blankets and sheets, towels, light bulbs, batteries, nuts and bolts, and other maintenance supplies. The bottom shelf was empty, however as that was where Bella often kept me.

Other mother and Bella were dressed up for Friday night outing and they couldn't leave me alone because I might set the house on fire, so they stuffed me in this tight and cramped dark place with no food or water.

I was pushed into the closet and the door was slammed and locked. Even if it wasn't lock I couldn't open the door as not even my fingers could fit through the narrow sliver between the door and the shelf.

I laid there for what felt like forever until other mother opened the door and told me to get ready for school. It was Labor Day weekend so I knew that I had been in the closet for four nights and three days.

I shakily made my way to the bathroom and proceeded to gulp down water from the tap. Afterwards I got ready for school, and pretended that the weekend didn't happen.

I didn't tell anyone what happened because I knew that if I did, it would be worse.

I groggily woke up and wiped my face of tears from the dream only for a familiar hand to help me.

I looked up to see my mommy sitting there and holding me while my daddy wiped away my tears. I immediately hugged them and snuggled myself into their chests.

I briefly wondered if I would always have nightmares of Bella and other mother.
