»Seamus' POV«
The clock read 2:30 which came as a shock to me because it felt like we had been recording for a century. Truly we were only thirty minutes into a Creature Talk. It was one of those times where there was a lot of us and most of the guys were hyped up which lead to them yelling over each other and Nick and I staying very quiet. As they changed topics Dan began to explain what ever they were about to talk about. To be honest I was tuning it all out, thinking about how happy I was to soon be seeing two girls I treated like sisters. Then Dan got interrupted by my phone blasting out the chorus of 3 Doors Down's song Kryptonite. Thank god I was going to be saved from this chaos!
As it rang I heard Eddie nag me. "Real fucking professional!" He joked.
The others began to laugh as I just ignored it. I answered the call as I got up from my seat to leave the room. I could hear Eddie following up his joke with another poke at me.
"Oh! And now he leaves the room!"
Dan laughed. "Hey for all you know it could be the hospital calling to tell him his Grandma's dying or something."
"Let her die! We have a podcast to record damn it!" Eddie continued hitting the desk as he spoke.
He was on a roll, but it was hard for him to hold in the laughter. I knew him too well. He was ready to break out giggling and as Jordan tried to pull them back into a topic that's what he did. His childish laughter rang through the downstairs but I ignored it to talk to one of my favorite people in the world.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey Cowboy." I heard Merel's sweet voice on the other end.
No matter who she was talking to, there was always a sense of flintiness in her tone. She truly had the lips of an angel and the kiss to match. I know because we used to date. We'd still be dating today if it weren't for a few too many people that couldn't pipe down, but that's a story for another day.
"Hey Moe." I replied picturing her smile that always appeared when I called her by my pet name for her.
"What's this shit with you waiting two rings in to answer the phone?"
She had a joking tone to her voice, but it was still intimidating, like always.
"Sorry!" I said defensively. "We were in the middle of recording."
I heard her jokingly huff on the other end. By now I was in the living room, but I could still hear Eddie being a loud fuck.
"You know your my number one girl, right?" I asked sweetly.
"What about Ashley?" She pouted.
I looked over to a picture on the mantel. The frame held an image of all of us from PAX. In the picture my arm is around Ashley's waist with her head rested on my shoulder.
"Okay you're tied with her." I answered.
I knew very well in my mind they weren't tied. One was farther up than the other, but I need to act like they're even. I'd like to think one day I'll believe myself that they're even.
"Fine." She sighed and then laughed.
I laughed along with her. Merel's laugh was amazing. Like how Eddie had a cute laugh, but this one made my heart melt.
"Anyways, I was calling because I have bad news."
Bad news from Merel was never good because most the time it meant it was about Sophia. We joke that Sophia's a human grape vine. She knows everything about everyone. I always get news from her, good and bad, so to hear bad news from Merel... well lets just say I'm worried to hear what's about to come out of her mouth.
I sighed. "What is it?"
"Sophia and Tanner broke up."
Shit. Here I thought I was going to have a great few weeks seeing two of my favorite people, and now it just got shot. This'll be Sophia's fourth time breaking up with him and each time she takes forever to get over it.
"Well fuck." I groaned. "What happened this time?"
"That's the good news. He went to Jail. Ain't no way he'll be able to convince her to come back from behind bars."
We both laughed as I continued to look at the PAX photo. Even though not all of us had girlfriends at the time, we do now. All but one; James. Aleks told Sly to keep it quiet, but he should've known better than to trust that big mouth. The idea hit me hard.
"Hey Moe,"
"Yeah?"
"I have an idea." I stretched my voice.
"Uh-oh."
